That is true, but most people when they bring a growler in don't have a sticker handy. I have had certain places say that they will still not fill it unless the sticker covers the complete name so that no portion of the lettering is present. So, you basically need a really big sticker in those cases. What you say is true though, can't debate that.

I feel the need to mention that Sea of Green was tapped today and was an excellent IIPA. Alot of flavor, but still smooth enough that it could get me into trouble. I do live 10 minutes from there, so YMMV.

It looks like myself and a another BA friend of mine will be visiting Tired Hands tomorrow at the open. Looking forward to my first Tired Hands beer experience.

What an answer. Responds with the day's greatest whales. So you measure all saisons against that huh? LOL It's amazing you can even enjoy a beer.

the man asked me what saison blew my mind, not what i measure all saisons against. i answered. take a look at the reviews for ann...i'm not alone in having my mind blown by that beer. i could've listed all the saisons that i rated higher than mysterious mood, but you guys know how to check a BA's reviews and sort by style so why bore everyone more than i already am? i could also list the saisons that i like less than mysterious mood, but that would be a much longer list as mysterious mood was rather impressive.

i don't measure all saisons against ann, but ann was pretty mind blowing for me. truth be told, in my mind the gold standard for a solid all around easily accessible saison is ommegang's hennepin (like all of this, just MY opinion). cellar door is rather mind blowing as well, but not as accessible and it has a sage twist, but cellar door is probably my favorite saison that i can get ahold of, but it isn't everywhere the way that hennepin is.

so, what's with all the hate? i chime in on a love-fest thread about the trade scene (albeit you are willing to trade $4$...good on you, the trade forum shows a different story) and i get called a homer deluxe out of nowhere because i offer a differing opinion (not that i'm not a homer, but what does that have to do with anything tired hands and how it trades?)...and then there is an issue when i say that the most mind blowing saison i've tried happens to be the #1 rated saison. do you also take issue with people who say that pliny the younger was their most mind blowing IIPA? what about people who think that bourbon barrel aged vanilla dark lord blew their mind when it came to a RIS? sheesh...this thread is doomed for godwin's law.

Get a few growlers to trade for whalezzz, because that's what us Tired Hands homers do, right?

Not me, friend. The only people I've sent Tired Hands to are past trading partners, most of whom asked for it themselves. You'll never see me post an ISO/FT offering the stuff up. The stuff I trade for, more often than not, I share with Jean at Tired Hands. It's fun to show them there's a demand for there stuff outside the area and let them enjoy what comes back for it. I'm just enjoying having a nice place to hang out at once in a while. I like the atmosphere and the people. The beer's just icing on the cake, to me.

By the way, I've got no hate for ya my friend. I respect your opinion (and everyone else's). If I don't happen to agree however, that's ok. I've heard Ann is a gem. I wasn't giving you grief for sharing a similar opinion. Imperfect communication. Speaking of Cellar Door...did you get a chance to drink the Barrel Aged Cellar Door? I found that to be wonderful, despite my bottle being a gusher. Have yourself a good evening, bud.

right on. sorry to take offense, but lately on BA if you don't have the same opinion as the masses, the pitch forks seem to come out. i've been fortunate enough to have tried a lot of crazy beers in the past few years and i've had my fair share of buying into the hype machine which normally leads to disappointment. i was not disappointed with tired hands, but didn't think it was worth the
that are being asked for (by the way the folks who posted in this thread are not the same folks fishing for
so all apologies if anyone feels attacked...we all know getting
is all about establishing real relationships and not at all about trading the latest flavor of the week.

and yes, i have had BA cellar door and LOVED it. i guess now that brian from stillwater is splitting his time between MD and NY having love for his brews fits into my homer deluxe reputation . now if only we could get more than one store on LI to carry his beers!

    with that avatar?

Honestly though, any BAs in the Philly area should get to Tired Hands to drink Sea of Green at the source, as intended, and bask in the glow of a well done fresh IIPA. It's a good damn beer, drink it and have f'n fun while doing so.

No tired hands IIPAs and lambics from 1989 make Lauren a dull girl. No tired hands IIPAs and lambics from 1989 make Lauren a dull girl.

Man, you really gotta start giving TLDR versions.

Here I'l help with this: "No, Ann is just the best of that category, I don't mean to imply that a beer has to be that good to get my hearty approval."

hehehe how I miss BeerAdvocate...high school for adults. Might have to revisit from time to time. Jean is damn good at brewing. My favorite of his offerings so far have been Everything was too long for a beer name, Undertow, and Singel Hop Simcoe. Drink his beers fresh, and if you must ship growlers...make sure they get to their new home within 72 hours of being filled!

Also, if you're going to ship, I suggest you politely ask if you can have the growler purged with CO2 before having it filled. It makes a difference.
