What I usually do with any bottle or growler is to use electrical tape to tape up the cap so it doesn't accidentally loosen or pop off while in transit. I haven't heard of any issues from using this approach..

that said I'm sure its still possible that something like what you ran into could still occur but its probably less likely..

No need to apologize! I'm not crying over free beer.

The growler would have probably been fine if not for the extreme heat. It was said to be 105 degrees here yesterday with the heat index. Not ideal conditions for this little hobby of ours.

Please don't feel like you didn't package up properly. I think you did everything you could have!

I also received a package from Abraxel, for finishing in third. First, I was to say that it was awesome (and entirely unnecessary) of him to step up and send a third place box.

I am the proud owner of a 2011 BA Plead the 5th and a bottle of Founders Imperial Stout of a vintage that I cannot identify (damn invisible bottle dating!). Founders Imperial is hands down my favorite non-BA stout! Unfortunately, I only discovered that this year and only grabbed two four packs. One is in the cellar, but you can be this bad boy will be cracked soon! Abraxel, do you happen to know the year on the Founders?

Also included in the box was a great chalice that I've added to my quickly expanding glassware collection (I just added a couple of Founders glasses and I have some from Stone on the way!).

Thanks again for the great box, Abram!

The Founders IS is just the most recent release (about six months old now). This is the first year I was able to set even a little aside -- it's easily my favorite non-BA stout, too, and I might even choose it over KBS... so no matter how much I buy, I have trouble not drinking it all.

I'm glad the PBR chalice has found a good home. I sent it because you deserve a blue ribbon

Let me know what you need, we can tag team this bitch. If nothing else it's an excuse to get together and drink some beer. Which reminds me, what are you and the future Mrs. doing this weekend? We both have recent hauls and you know sharing is caring!

That sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, I have some news for you. You'd have to change your avatar to this:

Quick update: There are two boxes yet to be shipped, but no one's AWOL. Everything will get there eventually...

Can't wait for Cash Cab :grinning:

I'm meeting up with IrishColonial on Saturday to pick up my spoils. Will post a pic that evening.

I'm also meeting with Brees6221 tonight to work out the details of TMTOBA 6 - Cash Cab. It's gonna be money, baby.

I have to say, I basically giggled when Eric handed me the Jackie O's Cellar Cuvee 5 and the Freemont B-Bomb. He was so casual about it. My face couldn't handle it and Eric knew instantly that he sank my battleship. Forever grateful...

All new beers, and all beers I'm definitely looking forward to 'reviewing'. Top notch!
