To age or not to age

    So recently a friend of mine got me a bottle of this years BCBS. As pumped as I am about this beer, that's all I was able to get, one bottle. Most of my aging is done when I have multiple bottles. Since I only have one I can't decide whether to age it or drink it now and try and get another one to age for later.

    Any thoughts??

    Drink it now.

    Aging--even with beers and styles that are good for aging--is always a crapshoot. It's impossible to know exactly how a beer will change for better or worse over time.

    The way I see it, there's nothing particularly interesting about knowing how a beer aged if you didn't have it fresh to start with. There's no baseline against which to compare it.

    That's kind of what I was thinking too. Aging is awesome...if you know what it tastes like fresh. Thanks man!

    A buddy got it for me. I'm not sure where he got it. I'll have to ask him and find out for you.

    Pentameter said it best. If you never had it fresh, you don't have a baseline to compare it to down the road. Drink up now, you'll probably stumble across another one in the future.

    Just kidding, its actually last years. Not sure why I wrote this years. My fault.


    But yeah I'm still going to drink it up now.

    It isn't out yet, so either you're lying or life hacking. Anyway, don't worry about only finding one bottle. Like I said, it isn't out yet. Once it is, you should be able to find more to age. So drink your black market BCBS now.


    EDIT: ah I see, last year's. Yeah, drink now.

    Yeah so really this whole post was pointless...I just assumed when he said he would give me one that he had one for me that it was this years when I posted the OP, but then I remembered that this years had not come out.
