    (If they are good).

Seriously though, I started a West Coast IPA thread in the Pacific forum because it’s my favorite IPA style, and I thought it was getting lost in the haze craze. That being said, I love all IPA’s from West Coast, East Coast, New England, “Juice,” Brut... (sorry Sour IPA’s). But I basically love almost all styles on this site if they are quality. To hell with craze’s or whatever. You do you, BA’s! And enjoy!

Have you tried Greene King IPA?
    It surprises many drinkers

On Tinder i think you’d call yourself an ethically non-monogamous IPA drinker.

I also love IPA’s, DIPA’s and the few so called triple IPA’s (perhaps call them TIPA’s) that I’ve tried. I like hop bombs, the well balanced, the single hop, the multi hop, the east coast, the west coast, the in between coasts, the Belgian IPA’s and the English IPA’s.

Had Greene King IPA on cask at The Old Star (had to look it up on Untappd) in London while on my honeymoon. Was da bomb! Well, every beer I had on cask on that trip was da bomb. Opened up my mind to that style of drinking, which I had not really understood before. Wish it was readily available here like it is in most, if not all, pubs over there.

Back to the thread. IPAs are great for the most part. Could do without Brut and Sour IPAs though.

Give me a crisp bracing bitter West Coast IPA or a hazy soft NE style IPA any day. Double, triple, bring it on! Not as crazy about the brut, Belgian or black IPAs though (all Bs???).

And the lamb lies down in L. A..

    Early morning Manhattan Beach,
Ocean winds blow on the land.
    Movie-Palace is now undone,
The all-night watchmen have had their fun.
Sleeping cheaply on the midnight show,
It's the same old ending - time to go.
    Get out!

It seems they cannot leave their dream.
It's time to pour another Anchor Steam,
And the lamb lies down in L. A..

    Nightime's flyers feel their pains.
    Drugstore take down the chains.
    Metal motion comes in bursts,
The tallboy can will quench his thirst.
    Suspension cracked on unmade road
    The trucker's eyes read 'Overload'
    And out on the freeway,

    Raul Imperial Aerosol Kid
Exits into daylight, spray gun hid,
And the lamb lies down in L. A..

The lamb seems right out of place,
Yet the WC beer scene finds a focus in his face.
    Somehow it's lying there,
Brings a stillness to the air.
Though man-made light, at night is very bright,
    There's no whitewash victim,
As the neons dim, to the coat of white.

    Raul Imperial Aerosol Kid
Downs his pint - he's forgotten what he did,
And the lamb lies down in L. A..

Suzanne tired her work all done,
Thinks money - honey - be on - neon.
Cabman's velvet glove sounds the horn
And the sawdust king spits out his scorn.
Wonder women you can draw your blind!
Don't look at me! I'm not your kind.
    I'm Raul!

Something inside me has just begun,
Lord knows what I have done,
And the lamb lies down in L. A..
    In L. A.
They say the movie lights are always bright in L. A..
They say the ocean's air is magic on the pier.

Ipa was my "gateway" style that led me to "craft beer" in general. I believe this to be the case for many folks here as well.

I have been avoiding IPAs in order to experience other styles for the past two years, however just like the need for comfort food on Sunday afternoons I often return to IPAs when the need something I can count on (no surprises) arises.

    Cheers.

For me it all comes down to the hop(s) used to brew the beer. I don't think I've ever totally disliked any IPA, but I've sure liked some of them a lot more than others (including the sour ones). And I think brewers tend to mix too many different hops into DIPAs, thus there are few of those that I've had that I like because most are a muddled hoppy mess.

Ipas that I don’t.. ah prefer.

English Style - a bit too malty and reminds me of an old state WCO.

Brut- unbalanced and overly bitter which reminds me a beer I usually abhor - the Session IPA.

Which brings me Milkskake IPAs, I don’t like them either.

Then there’s the Joose ipas - some are good some are not , some give me heartburn because imo they’re astringent and acidic, they burn the back of my throat but they also lack bitterness. One and done only, they smell far better than they taste.

West coast is the best coast in my opinion for IPAs. I can crush multiple WCIPAs, but I'm tired after 1-2 juicy IPAs. Had a Samual Smith IPA recently as a change of pace recently and that IPA really hit the spot for me.

If you get a super fresh simple Stone IPA , well it kinda rights a lot of wrongs.
