I'm sure this is a personal preference type question but what are everyone's feelings on nitro offerings? I personally avoid nitro pours because I think it makes beers taste flat and the flavor is impeded by the particular gas. As an example have had Peche Mortel on CO2 and nitro and CO2 (to me) has better coffee flavor every time. What are your preferences?

    Hate it. Watery and bland.

Nitro is polarizing. There are people like me who love the velvety, full bodied mouth feel, and there are people who feel the beer simply tastes flat due to lack of carbonation. I will admit it only compliments certain flavors, there's a reason stouts are the most commonly nitrogenated beers. The fact that I'm typing this over my second milk stout nitro of the evening kinda gives away my opinion on the matter.

Works well with some beers, not so well with others. A bar I go to pretty regularly has a tendency to put an imperial IPA on their nitro tap, especially in the summer months, and I am disappointed by those every time.

Nitro Peche Mortel is pretty damn amazing. The opposite of water and bland almost increases the body of the beer two fold.
That being said very very few beers that ive had benefit from a nitro tap although i still haven't done a side by side of each style to say for sure.

There are good ones and bad ones. I had a Clown Shoes Clementine on Nitro, and it brought out so much more Clementine; it was awesome.

Then I had a Founders Nitro Oatmeal Stout, and I thought it was really bland and tasteless.

Occasionally I like it. Two beers that I've enjoyed a lot on nitro are Oskar Blues' Old Chub and DC Brau's Penn Quarter Porter.

I really like the velvet smooth feel of Left Hand Milk Stout on nitro.

I've had some really tasty stouts on nitro, but Please stop doing it to IPA's

Definitely not a fan. The beer loses way too much flavor.

Nitro vs. Cask vs. CO2 ... personally, the lack of carbonation on the first two make the flavors pop a little more on my palate since there's no bubbles to compete with. Is it good for every style? Probably not. I tend to enjoy it more with big Porters, Stouts, and Scotch Ales.

It definitely feels completely watery and flat. 100 % of the time too, I believe.

However, i'd love to try a big, bold, boozy, sticky stout like Parabola on Nitro. That'd be fun.

Don't like nitro beers, but do occasionally try them still. I've heard old Rasputin is great on nitro and a local bar has it so I guess I'll see if my opinion changes.

Beers created specifically as nitro beers are generally worth it*. Good stuff. On the flipside, it's usually a good idea to avoid nitro "variant" beers.

*(A notable exception to this is Guinness Nitro IPA. Avoid, avoid, avoid.)

Maybe just me, but I don't care for nitro as I find the mouthfeel articially creamy.

I had alpine (before green flash came into the picture) nelson on nitro once and LOVED it. Maybe overall I prefer regular m nelson, but it was a pretty great way to change it up.

I typically AVOID nitro for the reasons stated. I would try an imperial stout or BCBS on nitro though.
