The only nitrous that I have truly enjoyed were stouts. I've had a couple nitro IPAs but I felt that it detracted from that bite that I enjoy.

I really like nitro beers... Just another option out there for us to enjoy.

Sometimes it works (Old rasputin, Wake Up Dead, Old Chub)
Sometimes it doesn't work (Founders Oatmeal, Belhaven Scottish Ale, any IPA, Guiness)

Once upon a time The Bruery had Black Tuesday on nitro and it worked really well.

...what everyone else said above about a few styles that work PLUS Sawtooth Ale on NITRO, that's actually the only beer that I've had on nitro that was better on nitro than in the CO2 version. A rarity. Milk stouts fine.
    Pass on the rest.

I'm looking forward to brewing beers to go on our nitro tap.
    Be a fun task.

Nitro? Hell no. Guinness is alright on nitro, but it ruins every other beer it touches. Which sucks since I like a lot of stouts. Have to be careful getting them on tap.

Tradeoff is the best way to put it. I'll have a nitro beer maybe twice a year, and when I get it I'm more in the mood for the nitro experience than whatever the beer is .

Nitro washes out some of the hop flavors and takes the burnt bitter edge off dry stouts. It makes Guinness more acceptable to the masses and it is OK for watching football in an Irish Pub. Putting a big imperial or double IPA on nitro is a sad, sad thing - kind of like putting Katy Perry in a nun's outfit..

99.5% of the time nitro is pretty terrible. I think I've had two beers on nitro that I actually appreciated, Carton of Milk and the Left Hand Imperial Bittersweet Coffee Milk Stout thingy.

Agree completely about the trade off and the nitro experience is greater than the flavor. That said, I can't remember the last time I actually sought that experience. After a couple eye-opening cask experiences, I cannot in good conscience support nitro. But some people like it, so be it. It's unfortunate that in the US good, fresh cask beer is so difficult to find and many people probably never have a good opportunity to make the comparison, but it's that eye-opening experience with cask that makes converts...Catch 22.

I'm all for nitro on things like a stout (where a creamy mouthfeel is important, and where carbonation isn't usually a selling point). For things like IPAs, for example, I'm completely against it. One of my current favorite beers is an APA on nitro, and I honestly wish the nitro portion was dropped.

I don't know how Guinness screwed up that IPA so badly. How does someone make a beer, an IPA no less, specifically for nitro and miss the mark so completely? How does something like that even get through R&D without being rightfully rejected? It's baffling.

Guinness is a good marketing company. Guinness IPA is certainly not for you or all the other BAs. But that doesn't mean the other 95% of beer drinkers wont buy it.

I think that they have pissed off the CAMRA nerds for so long they declared victory and are moving on to beating up IPA lovers. Just a guess.

Yeah, that beer su su sucks.
    Cheers.

Only one good Nitro pour comes to mind, but that's because it was recent and of a great beer that was only available on Nitro.

    Nitro Raspberry Resolute was phenomenal.

I rarely drink nitro. The texture really isn't my thing. That being said, the Crux Nitro Stout is always one of my favorites.

Had a Red Velvet Cream Ale on nitro that I actually liked, and that's the extent of the number of beers I like on nitro.

Tried Deschutes Red Chair on nitro, and it was just strange. Not good at all.

I don't like nitro. It's not that I think it tastes "flat" because I like cask conditioned beer.

It's that I think beers on nitro have very little aroma.

And im not picky but truthfully that beer just did not taste good at all. I like english style ipas. I imagined this with carbonation and the flavor just didn't agree with me. Cheers.
