if you go to any of the stores mentioned in this thread you will find some for sure. Get them in cans though, way better.

 

So is the food good at Maumee Bay, or are there any gastropubs downtown that have good beer but better food?

 

Gastropubs with good food are a rarity downtown. Maumee Bay has good pizza and their specials are sometimes interesting. Black Cloister is a taproom only; you can order in food, but there isn't much that's great within walking distance. Most of the best beer/food places are south of Toledo in Perrysburg/Maumee/Bowling Green. Go to Maumee Bay; you'll be happy.

Thanks for the info, all. I did hit up Black Cloister for some beers before walking over to Maumee Bay for dinner, which was good. The area seemed a little sketchy after dark on the walk back to my hotel though.

The 2nd night I was in town the client I was with actually booked us dinner reservations at the Dégagé Jazz Café in Maumee, which had a great farm-to-table menu, and a small, but high quality draft list.

I hit up The Andersons on my drive out of town to the Detroit airport, and picked up some Jackie O's, White Rajah, and Prairie stuff to throw in my suitcase for the flight home.

 

watching this thread for the past couple weeks help me pick up this haul.

 

Andersons on Taulmadge has cases on the floor grapefruit sculpin bottle or can six packs for $14.99 right now.

 

you need to go to the Baker's Kitchen in Maumee on Monclova Rd. they stock some nice beers and the cool thing is, they are willing to special order anything, super-cool to work with, if you want it, they'll find it.
