Too Many Features?

    Love the new forums but I think they allow for too much customization. What made the BA forums great was their readability and simplicity. To this end I suggest a uniform font and size to avoid annoying cutesy fonts and sizes. Also, the smilies need to go :angry:. They're juvenile and annoying. The trophies are overkill as well- just my two cents, but looking for other's opinions.

    I liked the simplicity as well. I guess we'll just have to see how restrained BAers can be with this stuff. If there's a bunch of animated gifs running down every thread this forum will be unreadable to me.

    It'd be nice to keep a few basic formatting features such as bold, italic and underline, but beyond that I reckon the simplicity we had on the forums until the meltdown worked very well. Bells and whistles such as smileys, font sizes, colours and types, bullets, like buttons etc detract from from the substance of a discussion.

    Although i agree with you on this one, I think that allowing simple pics (not gifs) in the trades forum and in the beer **** will be great for users.

    Already covered in another post. Smilies and code will become limited once the feature to make this happen is in place. We also plan on syncing up the look and feel; as posted.

    In the meantime ... if you don't like it, don't use it. If someone is abusing it ... flag their posts. The new mod tools make it easy for us to deal with it.
