Agreed. I love Pumking and Mokah for the sweetness and over the top flavors of these beers, but I could not get Creme Brule down the hatch without feeling disgusting.

Same here! Also, when I hear/see "sweet tooth", I always think of cavities and toothache. As far as Southern Tier Creme Brule goes, I liked it, but it was too hoppy for me.

It's not the sugar. High Fructose Corn Syrup + other artificial stuff.

FYI, open the Crème Brulee, put the cap back on it and drink it the next day, its really something nice; the vanilla is half as strong.

My simple rule that makes sense to me- malty:good, sugary:not so good. Creme Brulee was definitely on the sugary side, but I split a bottle, which helped.

For me Southern Tier Creme Brulee, Fresh Dark Lord (like less than 2 years old), and Fresh 120 and World Wide Stout are all pretty painful for me to drink.

Had a 5 year old Dark Lord and a 6 year old World Wide Stout that were absolutely great though.

I generally really enjoy sweet beers as long as they are also quite boozy. However, certain vintages of Dark Lord have been bordering on undrinkable. Agree on the Creme Brûlée too, I love me some Southern Tier (Chokolat is sweet but is particularly fantastic IMO), but that Creme Brûlée is just too much.

Interesting. I thought WWS was a thin bodied, bitter booze bomb.

I felt I needed 10,000mg of Metformin and a trip to the dentist after 1 sip of a fresh one.

Samichlaus Helles was the most horrifyingly sweet thing I've ever tasted. Could only take two sips of my 8 oz. pour. To this day, the ONLY beer I never finished.

Yup. The after the first third of the bomber I was ready to buy a case. Only made it 2/3 of the way through and haven't had it ever since

All Bruery imperial stouts I've had thus far. I honestly don't know why the hell they all have such a great score. They're good, but nothing that completely blows my mind. Perhaps it's just my personal preference? Either way, they are way too sweet.

That's an example of a beer I can have one of and be done for the night. I've heard of people putting ice cream in it to make a root beer float, and all I think is...why?? It's already so damn sweet! In fact, I did put ice cream in it (to see what all the hype was about), and after I was done, I thought I was going to go into a diabetic coma or something.

Before I even clicked on the link to this thread the Creme Brûlée was the first thought in my mind. Delicious if splitting among a few people, a bit overwhelming even if you're just trying to take down a glass.

Generally milk stouts of any variety tend to have that "too sweet" feeling by the end of a full pour. Again, the perfect bomber beer to share among a few folks.

BrewDog Tokyo - Aleady exceedingly sweet from the dark fruits, the beer's 18.2% ABV just compounds that sweetness and warmth. The cloyingly sweet flavors were far too much for me and almost made it a drainpour. I have seen it in stores multiple times since and gives me a slightly sick feeling each time.
