Fruli is an excellent Strawberry beer but it's way too sweet for me to be anything besides a desert beer.

Thats a good way too look at it. However, if I think of it like that its a bit hard for me to justify it. I'd just rather have a regular root beer. Though, I do understand that line of thinking. Even so its a bit sweet for me, beer or not  (I also think cupcakes are too sweet too, soooooooo)

so many people shit on creme brulee.... you're just not seeing its usefulness
Seriously folks: creme brulee + good quality vanilla ice cream = :stuck_out_tongue:
Drinking it straight is not recommended.... (the ice cream cuts its sweetness down to size)

The only beer I've had that I thought was too sweet is three philosophers. I like quads but they usually have more complexity. Still a great beer though.

Based on the title of this thread alone, I knew it was about Creme Brulee.

I haven't found a beer to be too sweet yet, as long as it's limited to an appropriate sized pour. In the case of Creme Brulee, that would be about 8 oz for me.

Crème Brulee ,by far the worst beer brewed by a good brewery in my experience:grimacing:

Samichlaus Classic-that was a huge struggle to get through. My brother sent it to me for Christmas. I had to brush my teeth after drinking it. Never again.

Another for Crème Brûlée...way too sweet, but I also found Big Lushious to be overly sweet, especially after it warmed.

I'm cool with Creme Brûlée, Big Lushious is the only beer I can think of that's just way too much for me.

I will add to the Crème Brûlée chorus, I actually became nauseous half way through a 10oz pour so I guess it was cloying to me, I definitely cannot handle intensely sweet beers. Most of the ST Dark Water Series are like that to a degree.

I think the only thing that saved this beer from being a drainpour for me was the amount of money I spent on one bottle. Boozy, sweet, and just a mess.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned (unless I missed it) the entire Lindeman's Lambic line. They remind me of when I was a kid and would triple the amount of lemonade mix the recipe called for... and they are still sweeter. I can feel my enamel dissolving when I drink one of those. Pure saccharine nectar.

-1 for both Creme Brulee and NYFRB. I've solo'd a bomber and a six pack, respectively, and enjoyed. Granted, after the six pack my heart rate was elevated by about 90 BPM, but that's too sweet for my heart, not ME.

I've yet to try one that was too sweet. Not Creme brulee (or any from that line), not Samichlaus, not Not Your Father's root beer. I'm not sure I want to find one that's too sweet for me, haha.

I'll finish a creme brulee bomber by myself, no problem. Sure its the sweetest beer i've had...but its not undrinkable sweet.

That said, if they up'd the roastiness in that beer and dialed back the vanilla....it would probably be better received as a great vanilla stout.
