Took day off...going to Mankato Brewing

Going to go visit my stepson, pick up a fish tank, and swing by the brewery. Thrilled to be going since I don't get to go to too many breweries due to my location and busy family. I know they're not top rated like Indeed or Dangerous Man or Town Hall, etc., but I've had the Organ Grinder and it was decent. Hopefully they have some interesting stuff on tap.

If anyone happens to be there tonight and you see a dude with a Waconia Brewing hoodie...say hi! Would love to meet a few craft beer nuts like myself. :-)

 

I had a Leaf Raker, a Leaf Raker on Nitro, and then a flight of their standards. I also had a small sample of something with ginger in it that I didn't care for. The Leaf Raker is really good. I was less impressed with the nitro version.

I like how the "tap room" is just a corner of the brewery. You can see everything and watch Mr. Joe Brewer go about his business. Looked like he was mashing something while we were there. Can't beat the free pool and table soccer, too.

I was sad that we were there between 4 and 7 and maybe a dozen people came and went -- most of whom looked like regulars. I know it was Thursday but still. Maybe they're busy on the weekends?

Already made plans to go down again when the mint stout is done at the end of October. Mmm.....stout.
