You are comparing an APA to a AWA...... does not compute.

Did Mackinaw sell out, or did they just cut off the online sales?

I was curious about this too. The limit was originally 3 bottles when they first announced on bpt, but that changed today to 6. I was still avail late afternoon, but I got sidetracked.

They do, from my understanding, because BPT doesn't pay out unless the "event" is closed. So they basically just plop it up and then sell whatever and close it up for onsite sales.

I don't think any of the recent releases have sold out. I was in there before Thanksgiving and they had bottles of everything.

BTW - had Poinsettia over Thanksgiving and enjoyed it. It sounded weird at first when they announced it, but it worked. Good amount of tartness and the spices don't ruin anything. My wife loved it, too.

You had a better experience with Poinsettia than I did. Had it at a share, nose was great, all the spices and scents of xmas cooking. And then the flavor...tasted like someone just dumped a shload of nutmeg into a sour beer. We did not finish the bottle.

Man, that sucks! Yeah we all said "this could be really bad if the spices are overpowering" but thankfully they weren't. It was mostly tart cranberry. I have another bottle we are gonna open on Christmas with the inlaws, so that one is TBD, ha.

We all thought Autumn Bliss was great, too. Did you guys like that one?

We didn't bring Autumn Bliss, but from those that have opened both I have heard Autumn Bliss was worlds better.

I haven't had it yet, so I can't be the tie-breaker. I know they didn't keg any, so with such a small bottling run they bottle you get could make quite a difference. A lot of spices can be suspended toward the bottom. I imaging Bottle 10 would taste a lot better than bottle 250.

I was there a couple weeks ago and saw bottles of it on the shelf, but I couldn't pull the trigger to buy another without trying that one first.

Yeah, it very well could have just been a random bad bottle. It happens, but because of what I tasted it did reaffirm me not buying bottles to be a good thing. Think I spent that money on more speedway bottles anyways. Gotta feed that speedway addiction man!

Whoops! Thanks for the correction. Forgot Grass Fed Lettuce was a wild ale, it's been a while since I had that one. Regardless, I was never really that impressed with that beer and I found Free Range to be better.

I had my first bottle of the Citrus Gose last night and it was very good (considering I've only maybe tried like 10 different beers of the style). Definitely planning on picking up another bottle.

Looks like Bramble on Rose sold out within an hour this morning. Doesn't really say how many were up for sale, but it wasn't a "sales ended" thing on BPT.

    Anyone tried this stuff yet?

Guess I'll wait till it hits Mr K's like the others have lately.

It does say "sales ended" and not "sold out," so there are probably bottles in the tasting room. I think they've been pulling the plug on the online sales really early so they can get paid by BPT quickly and so they don't have the appearances that their beers linger too long. I've been really impressed by most of their stuff lately. I even really enjoyed Poinsettia, when I was expecting the worst. Wish I'd bought another bottle.
