What a mediocre/poor list we have here in MD. Every day I envy the incredible local breweries so many others enjoy in other states.....

Good god- yes the omission of Swamp Head was an oversight. They would slide in right under Saint Somewhere. And Wakefield's brewery is not open yet, but his stuff is at pretty much every festival in the state. For that matter Angry Chair is not open yet either, but they have been brewing amazing beers for festivals thanks to their friends at CCB. ACBC (they already have the initialism) could be one of the best breweries in the state/southeast/country before too long. If you get a chance to try their Berliner Florida Weisses, i would highly recommend it.

Pretty solid CA list, in my opinion - agree with a lot of your rankings...

Wow this is tough. There's a LOT here I haven't had and a constant stream of top tier new breweries opening. Most people here would disagree with this list, I think.

    1. Avery
    2. Odell
    3. Oskar Blues
    4. Prost
    5. Crooked Stave
    6. Great Divide

There's like 100 that are tied for the 19-20 spots.

I totally agree with Alexipa. Our second tier of 20 breweries is better than most state's first team. We could include River North, Strange, Bull &Bush, Grimm Brothers, Trve, Denver Beer Company, Arvada Beer Company, Hogshead, Caution, Backcountry, Wit's End just to name a few.

Good list. I gotta get slumbrew in there though. Also no love for Harpoon? Most of their stuff is kinda blah, but they're definitely better than Cisco, Cape cod, or offshore Imo.

Off-hand it would be Toppling Goliath, Great River, Peace Tree, Millstream, Backpocket and Madhouse. There are others in state but none that I can easily get.

The absence of Slumbrew and Harpoon on my list is really me just taking liberty of my own opinion. I really don't care for either brewery. And for the record I particularly like at least a few of Offshore's beers.

I also realized I forgot Trillium....

Seriously. Give it time, though. With the legislation passed last year (essentially allowing brewpubs to distribute, and/or micros to sell on premises) hopefully we will get a lot more interest in NJ, and in 5 years we will all be able to list more than 20. Honestly, I think it was amazing that we had any small breweries at all prior to that.
