I've had most of the greats, Heady, Pliny, Double Sunshine, Julius, Lunch, Sculpin, Enjoy By, Dirtwolf, Hop Ranch, Two Hearted, Jai Alai, Sucks and I can confidently say that my top 3 IPAs in order are

    Heady Topper
    Double Sunshine
    Julius

Pliny the Elder would be 4th on this list because it does live up to the massive hype. However, Heady, Double Sunshine, and Julius all have distinct tastes that separate them from the others. I personally feel that Pliny is a great beer, but there are other IPAs that have similar profiles.

Since I have never had Pliny or Heady, my most enjoyable would probably be:

    IIPA
    1. Snake Handler
    2. Ruination
    3. Sucks

    Regular IPA
    1. Jai Alai
    2. Celebration

I'll stick with actual Ipas rather then DIPAS.

    Jai Alai
    Dos Osos
    Furious

If DIPAS are included then I have to add On the Wings of Armageddon

White Oak Jai Alai is awesome, Cigar City brews are always good ones to swap if your looking to trade for some good IPAs/DIPAs that arent pliny or heady. May need a little more weight than jai alai for those. Look into CCB El Catador club they do some limited releases or get some limited growler fills at the brewery if you live close to Tampa and those would be good trade bait. Good luck

So you weigh the hype/fanfare into your final decision of whether or not you like a beer?

I was wrong: now you can get it in cans (Heady Topper). I think I'm the only one who didn't know this. Things change!

    Sucks, Dirtwolf, fresh squeezed.

But I haven't had many of the greats
