Top 5 Rye IPAs

Bittersweet Lenny's R.I.P.A by Schmaltz was pretty good. Haven't tried that many in the style, so can't come up with a full list here.

 

Founders Reds Rye IPA is one of my favorites

 

Big fan of Jester King's Wytchmaker. Had one last week that had been in the bottle for seven months and it was still a wonderful treat.

Hop Rod Rye
Rye of the Tiger
Yard's Rye



In that order I suppose. Red's Rye is definitely my top choice.

 

You read my mind....I was just thinking about starting a thread myself featuring people's top brews of the style

I haven't had a whole lot, and was looking for some suggestions

I have enjoyed Founder's Red's Rye IPA and SN Ruthless

Of course, you'll have to sort through the list because not all are IPAs...

 

Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye - underrated in my opinion as an overall beer.

Great Lakes Rye of The Tiger

I do like Founders Red's Rye PA but it's slightly different take on it.

 

About the same as mine...for me Ruthless and Hop Rod are tied for top spot...and I prefer Lenny RIPA to Rye of the Tiger (both are excellent)...and Yards was the surprise for me this year...love the stuff

 

I've yet to get a chance to try Lenny's RIPA, but I've heard good things. The Yard's surprised me as well. I like most of their offerings, but none really blow me away or anything. The rye was much better than I expected.

 

Perrin Rye of the Liger!!! Citra & Centennial hopped Rye IPA

 

The usual suspects listed above are great. But for some lesser known rye beers, I have to plug Seattle brewery Reuben's. Open just over a year, they're killing it ... and they have something of a fetish for rye beers. Worth trading for their stuff, IMHO, or add it on to other trades with Seattle folks.

Though not IPAs, the Roasted Rye is very good. The Roggenbier may not have high ratings, but it's one of the highest rated of the style.

 

I really liked Timber Beast, the only craft beer I have had from Mississippi.

Have not had too many, unfortunately.

Hop Rod Rye would be my favorite. Renegade's Redacted is probably next.
