I haven't tried many Rye IPAs other than Ruthless Rye but yesterday I had Firestone's Wookey Jack and found it to be absolutely delicious. (First post!)

People in the Seattle can probably agree that Rueben's Brews does some amazing things with Rye. By far the best Rye IPA that I have tasted.

For me, Red's Rye is the Usain Bolt of rye ipas--way out in front.

After that, it gets difficult, because there are several rye beers that I'm not sure if they technically qualify as IPAs or not. Bell's Smitten and Arcadia Sky High are two that have a decent hop presence, but it's not the same level of hoppiness that Red's Rye has, for example.

It ends there for me. That's probably because I lost my taste for rye heavy beers. I find Ruthless to be pretty awful, and that not being an overstatement.

Alpine Nelson should be on considered a Rye beer right?

The whiskey barrel aged version of Lenny's is good, R.I.P.A. in rye, a bit sweet and boozy, but very tasty for about 8 oz.

Felt the same way about Yards...but I will say I have noticed a marked improvement in their beers lately...well worth revisiting their beers...but the Rye has been by far my favorite of theirs...make a point to try the Lenny RIPA...very enjoyable....overall this year I have enjoyed ryes than in the past...

    From Lagunitis

So this substitute beer is a ‘Cereal Medley’ of Barley, Rye, Wheat, and Oats…. Full of complexishness from the 4 grains, and weighing in at 7.85% abv, Then joyously dry-hopped for that big aroma and resinous hop flavor.

    I redact my prior comment...

Ive only had Founders Reds Rye and SN Ruthless Rye, I thought both were very good. I would have to have them side by side to decide which was my favorite.

Kind Rye'd by Otter Creek and Founders Red's Rye are two of my favorites. Hop Rod Rye is good.
I remember Terrapin having a Rye IPA that I liked but I don't remember what it was called.
Ruthless is ok but it is not a favorite.

Part of the malt bill includes rye. Also the case with Wookey Jack which I've seen some people post. I intended for this to be a Top 5 Rye IPAs that use 100% rye malt thread. Guess I should've clarified because, if Wookey Jack was an acceptable answer, there'd be almost no point to the thread since it's one of the best beers ever period.
