Unfortunately for Delaware the new best list is the DFH beer list. With their huge distribution footprint the other quality Delaware Brewers have no chance of getting enough ratings to make it to the list. There are currently 37 beers that have enough reviews. 36 are DFH. I love DFH but let's face it, they are not the only good brewer in Delaware. Mispillion is a very good brewer that has their flagship beer having exactly 19 reviews(it takes 410 currently to get on the list). This beer is distributed throughout DE. It has no chance to make the list. Unfortunately this is the catch 22 of this type of list. Set the bar too low and only limited impossible to get beers are on the list. Set it too high and state lists like DE are meaningless.

Yes, exactly. However, that 410 number should go down as those smaller breweries start developing a local history, etc. and start expanding and growing (e.g., Evolution in now available in SEPA) since that 410 number is based on the number of Delaware beers and the number of their ratings/reviews. (Assuming of course that DE residents like the beers and take the time to rate/review their local beers.)

So the "penalty" if one looks at it that way derives from DFH having a long past and there being a short history for many of those 12 other much newer breweries in DE with many fewer beers and many fewer ratings/reviews. There are PA breweries that come close to rivaling DFH in terms of distribution and number of ratings/reviews, but there are many more breweries and beers brewed in PA than in DE so the w is 55.

The revised state list looks a lot better , nice to see a good wide spread of breweries now.

I'm surprised none of Yard's beers couldn't get into the bottom of the list with their volume. I guess it's a product of everyone loving IPA's, and not so much of more English style beers. I love me some GW Tavern Porter.

Thank you sir, for the update. If nothing else this is now a much more interesting list.

Me feeling that two beers are above mediocre(both with caveats no less) out of everything brewed in Pittsburgh is glaringly inconsistent? I don't get what your agenda is with this whole line of misguided questioning. At any rate I've changed my Idle Hands rating to better reflect my latest encounter with it. You can sleep easy now.
