Top Beer Release Event to Attend

Not in that month range, but the best event is right in your back yard- Huna Day, if you can get a ticket. Pretty sure Darkness Day falls in that range though and I've heard great things about the shares there.

 

This is a good idea for a thread. Being from MI I don't have much to offer since you said 4elf was out. I'm curious to see what other events top folks lists.

 

Kuhnhenns winter solstice in Warren MI. Great beer though the most poorly ran event every year (soooo slow to get your bottles!). Nonetheless still a great time!

 

FOBAB Chicago in November 14-15.

If you are looking for an out of town release I'd look into Jackie O's. This year is their 10th Anniversary and will probably be one of the 1st 2 weekends in December. That is usually when they do it. Problem is they don't set a date until sometime in the fall. And its different each year. But one of the first 2 weekends in December is a sure bet.

Last year they had a bottle release with around 50 something drafts. The draft list alone they put up is worth the trip. Bottle release is an after thought to me. Being their 10th Anniversary I'm sure they will be pulling out all the crazy goodness from their cellar they can!

 

BA Abraxas, Sump, and 17 should be released during that time span if the whispers are to be belived. I was down for the regular abraxas and coffee release and that was a fantastic day.

 

Jackie O's and Brothers' Resolute Day are both within your timeframe and relatively easy to get to from Fla. Resolute Day is still pretty small and should be easier to get what you are after- on November 15. Plus, Trickery on tap...

 

Its not in your timeframe, but I'd put Dark Lord Day on the calendar regardless.

 

I think they were different days last year. They did an in person reservation system for locals about a month before they went on sale. The rest went into an online lottery. I entered the lottery and lost. If you are randomly selected to buy a bottle you have several days to pick up your bottle.

 

If you can't find an event that works, just go to Asheville.
