Q.I'm sure this has been posted 1000 times but idc because I haven't seen it. What brewery does everyone think has the best overall artwork on their labels, and the best individual labels/character?

    A. My favorite single character is Stones Gargoyle. I know it sounds like an easy choice but he is an awesome figure to base you labels and beer around. My favorite local brewery is New England Brewing Co. and I may be in the minority but their cans are some of my least favorite, I don't like laughable beers, it makes it hard for new drinkers to try and take serious(I run a liq store or else I wouldn't care)

Anyway I love Stones Gargoyle and my other favorite is obviously 3 floyds, haven't seen a bad label yet from them.

What are some of your opinions? Hoping to hear some that don't come to CT and/or that I havent saw

DFH's 750s consistently look great. I also like the class and simplicity that the Bruery 750s have

Odell and Great Divide are great for being simplistic yet attractive. I think Jolly Pumpkin has some damn good art though.

also, I hate to say this, but as a designer, I have to say that the old school budweiser logo and branding is really good.

I have to say artwork draws me in (pun intended)…so many great ones that I see posted here nightly that are not available here as well as those that are…I think Surly makes cool labels, Three Floyds are over the top cool, really like Flying Dog Brewery, Stone, Great Divide is simplistic beauty that pulls my eyes to it every time I walk by it, so many I like that I could post in here daily as they keep popping up in my head! Locally I like Coop, check out their Native Amber and DNR, cool labels and better tasting brew:

This is an area where beer tends to be exceedingly poor. And some of the best design is on the worst beer.

I actually think New Holland's high-gravity series is one of the best designed lines of bottles I've seen. Great Divide is good, so's Uinta. I really like Anchorage Brewing's design language. The Bruery clearly knows what they're doing, but it's gotten a little one note.

And I can't stand Lost Abbey's design and branding. All over the map, confusing, and frequently unattractive.

This is how I feel about Upland's labeling. Which is a shame, because there is so much potential, and I'm really happy to have them as the local brewery.
As for the best... I like the simplicity and under-the-radar feel of Portsmouth, the coolness of FFF, and the classiness of Deschutes. Oh, and Portsmouth has the best artwork on their growlers (well, except maybe for Hill Farmstead).

It's a smaller brewery here in Rochester, Ny, but Three Heads Brewing has some awesome artwork on their bottles and posters. The best part is everything is done locally with them. They have a lot of great tie-in's to the local art community. Check their artwork out sometime!

Yeah, I love the label on Java Sutra, all the others are really great too, and so is the beer. Plus they are cool guys can't wait to see them again at TAP.
