Top (favorite) spring beer

SN Kellerweis, but I haven't had Schlenkerla Fastenbier yet.

 

For me spring is all about saisons and other assorted lighter Belgian beer.

My favorite spring beer is probably Schlafly Belgian Style Golden Ale. To me it tastes like spring in a bottle.

 

Jacks's Abby Maibock Hurts Like Helles. Stupid name; outstanding spring beer.

 

These posts about "favorite seasonal beer" usually is about a fond positive memory of how good a beer was at a certain place in your life during a season. For spring, it was last Easter...nice spring day sitting on my deck with my brother and brother-in-law sharing a bottle of Ommegang Hennepin saison while we were waiting for Easter dinner to be ready. Such a perfect day, and the beer fit to occasion wonderfully.

 

Well, spring around here could mean 30*F and windy one day, 70*F and sunny the next, and then a torrential downpour at 48*F the next day. As such, I keep a little of everything on hand.

On a nice spring day, a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale would do nice though. I really enjoy their IPAs as well.

 

I know it's available all year around but there is nothing like cracking the top on a days old All Day IPA in spring/summer.

 

Southern Tier Where the Helles Summer. Equally stupid name, equally awesome beer.

 

Damnit! Still haven't seen that in NM! Really need to track this one down.

 

In the spring and i like low abv IPAs, ambers and saisons.

 

Hop Juju and it's not close. I look forward to others, such as KBS, but fresh Juju is nearly unrivalled.

 

Troeg's Cultivator, SN Tropical IPA, or New Belgium Citradelic.

 

Don't feel bad - I can't get it here in Stuttgart either & I'm only 100 miles / 2 hrs away

 

But you could easily bike/drive/take the train to the brewery!

I have to agree with Fastenbier.
Locally Berkshire Brewing Maibock is like the
return of the Peregrine Falcons on Mt Sugarloaf.
Spring indeed, enjoy.

 

Nah, there even a lazier option I could exercise...

I could just order it from the brewery online & have it show up at my front door the next day.
