Thanks all. I prob can't make it there at open, so I guess I'll just have to deal with how it is by mid afternoon. I was there for stout stock last november, and was able to just grab a seat at the bar, but there's gonna be 4 of us this year, and we're definitely gonna wanna sit and eat so, will just get the name in and deal. Thx.

First timer here also with a few questions. After you check in with the hostess are you able to leave and come back when your table is ready? What do they usually pour? Do they offer any other bottles to go? Most importantly, how is the burger?

Yeah - I saw a few bottles available on untapped, but not the web site? Like it says they have Toppling Waters bottles for $50, but then the web site doesn't have it listed - so I was confused on that too.

I do know that they said they will announce the stouts that are going to be on tap "soon," but the web site hasn't announced - I just keep refreshing the KBBS event page.

You check in and give your cell number. You can then virtually check your queue position and will get a text when your table is ready.

4 stout limit on KBBS day and only 1 pour of KBBS. Aurora might be on tap, 52 Hertz if lucky, a term oil variant, maybe Assassin. DDH King Sue is an excellent IPA (no limit on these).

Can’t speak to the burger. I usually go for the cheese curds and pizza, both of which are excellent!

They're still showing Toppling Waters, Kaiju Clash, and BA Stout Hawks still available in $50 22-oz to-go bottles on their website under what's on tap. I imagine that will last through at least the start of the KBBS release.

Is there an option to bypass the line and just go straight to the bar? My bottle pickup window is at opening on Saturday, and I'll be going solo. It would be an understatement to say I hate the cold, so any option to avoid standing outside in December would be a blessing.

Yup you can go to the bar and get drinks. Just realize if you do that, you won't get table service, no food.

Thanks! Bar seating will be fine for me if it keeps me from the cold. No disparagement intended to TG's food program, but I'm not flying halfway across the country and driving for hours to rural Iowa out of a desire for cheese curds.

For any other out-of-towners heading to KBBS weekend, just a heads up that Pulpit Rock is also doing a special release that weekend, with pre-sale taking place on Oznr on Monday.

Do they only refuse food at the bar at events, or at all times?

must just be when it’s jam packed because when i went up for DB Rye Assassin in January of this year it was a ghost town and i got pours, food and to-go beers all at the bar.

If it's any solace, the long term outlook as that Saturday in the high 40s - depending where you're coming from, that shorts weather.

Saw the imperial cake drop - very nice.

    KBBS DRAFT
It's Kentucky Brunch Brand Stout week and that means big beers on draft too! Here’s what you need to know:

    • Join us at 11 A.M. for a KBBS Vertical. 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 will be available until gone.

    • ***Supplies are limited***

    • We will be enforcing a four-stouts-per-person policy throughout the weekend to help ensure as many people as possible can try them. Each stout must be unique; no duplicates. Please be considerate of your fellow man and stout-lover by doing your part to abide by that as well.
Not sure if this is the extent of the draft list or not, but this was updated today.

Anyone know if that limit is only for KBBS or if it applies to the other stouts they have on tap? Their draft menu shows Assassin, 52 Hertz, and Mornin' Delight, and none of those are options I'd have access to outside of this trip.

Haha, I feel the same way. Thanks for asking some good questions about the event, things that I’ve been wondering myself. I won’t be able to get there till about 3:30 or 4 on Saturday and hoping maybe there will be a bit of a lull by then and I can grab a seat at the bar. I know a lot of these events get packed at the very beginning but we’ll see how it goes once I get there.

I read it similarly but perhaps not necessarily strictly BA stouts (and therefore inclusive of Mornin' Delight).

I think there might be some confusion here, allow me to try and clarify. There are a few seats in the bar area that are available for drink and dine but for those seats, you must check in with the hostess and tell her you want to dine in.

The question I was answering was whether someone could bypass that line and just get drinks, the answer is yes. You order your drinks (there can still be quite a long line for this because often people will go to the drinks line while the rest of their party waits in the food line, they order drinks, and bring them back to their party while they continue to wait for food). Now, assuming that's not the case for you or others, you can order your drinks and then take them away, possible to the upper level where are there are some spots to sit if you're not "dining in."

It's 4 total stout pours, each must be unique. So you can't order 4 Hertz 52. Now there is some complexity because they are offering a KBBS Vertical. So what I'm not sure of is whether a KBBS 2018 is considered unique relative to a KBBS 2021. If each year is considered unique, then your 4 stouts might be able to each be a KBBS but of a different year.
