You should've heard them talking about the tickets that were handed out for stout stock vs. the tickets that could potentially give them KBBS. Endless confusion.

How much Assassin did they end up selling?

I’d like to hear a complete rundown on the event. Bottle count, line issues, drafts, etc.

600-700 barrel slayer (impossible to say exactly, I was 400ish and got 2 bottles but most didn't reline) Stout hawks and MD were no limit by the end basically. Probably 300-325 KBBS tickets, maybe 100 bottles of assassin.

Assassin was most limited; when asked onsite, Mike Saboe said it was very limited but wouldn’t say an exact number.

Issues with lining up pertained to campers and people who showed up day of. First campers arrived on Thursday and to not block loading dock area, started camp on the field. They were given tickets on Friday, ticket distribution ended for the day with the intent to resume on Saturday morning. More campers arrived Friday night. Early Saturday morning, non-campers arrived and lined up at the loading dock; the line grew and confusion ensued as campers woke up to see the line...who gets tickets first? Ticket distribution continued, campers got tickets first, then start of loading dock line. Tickets were likely a way for TG to keep track of stock.

3-pour limit on all stouts (excluding Rover Truck and Mornin’ Latte). Available: Term-Oil 19-B, C, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Coconut Pecan, S’mores; Barrel Slayer; Stout Hawks; MD.

Thanks for the recaps! There were way more KBBS tickets than I assumed. Anyone have any feel for when people lined up? When would have been the perfect time to score everything, but wait the least amount of time?

Seems like around 9am to get kbbs, the line was such a stupid clusterfuck though. Ppl got tickets, then went inside for pours when the taproom opened, came back out all willy nilly etc.

Even if there were some people who went in to grab a pour inside, it seemed like everyone still followed the numbers they were assigned on their sticker/tickets when the lined up again at the doorway. TG staff stopped by to inform some people they really shouldn’t have brought out their pours to stand back in line, but they weren’t jerks about it. I thought the event started out with a bunch of confusion, but ended up being a reasonable experience.

To avoid some of the initial confusion, I wish TG had spoken to Maine Beer before attempting this event. I went to the Dinner releases a few years ago when everyone lined up and it was handled a little better. Basically they had signs that told everyone where to line up, and staff came out early in the morning to hand out tickets and told ticket-holders to come back at a specific time to line up again. Anyone else who showed up were sent to a line of people without tickets for the process to repeat. Seemed to work for the most part.

The camping and cars at this event just made things more confusing. Multiple campers tried to tell the people in line that they shouldn’t line up at the doors, and instead should form a line behind a bunch of parked cars, essentially ignoring the limited instructions TG provided online. TG staff apparently reviewed security camera footage to get a general sense of when people arrived. Probably not perfect, but they didn’t seem to make any huge errors.

Maybe the bar is low, but I was impressed by the people standing in line with me who were very reasonable, friendly, and generous for the most part. No one lost their minds and some people refused to take earlier tickets when TG staff mistook them for overnight campers, and instead headed back to their spots in the line and waited for their tickets.

They were handing out kbbs tickets like hot cakes. I know a couple people that camped from Friday to Saturday and didn’t get assassin.

Probably a dumb question but did they sell through all of their MD bottles?

Nope, at least not on the day of. At the end of the day, MD and Stout Hawks were available for purchase in the taproom/bar.

Was funny. Dude rolled up with his own case and the TG employee didn’t question him. I got back in line to grab a 2nd for my brother and he was like don’t you already have one. He let me buy a second, but was funny he questioned me while allowing another to buy 12+. They did have a sign that says limit 1 per person.

LOL, they couldn't possibly spare a free pour when they are barely making any profit on these $100 12oz bottles.

"So,were not seeing the margins that we use to on King anymore Clark now that their in 4 packs."
"Well lets put out a DDH version and sell it for same price in a smaller bottle than the bomber."
"What about everything being in cans going forward?"
    "F*ck that sh*t..."

Still waiting on my 12 pack of Sue cans btw guys.
