Or...the maximum number of people who think this is a good idea and can also justify the expense have already bought tickets, and just happened to choose to have an Iowan Fri-yay.

Everyone else is digging through their sofas (and their conscience) and coming up short.

How many tickets were available for Friday anyway, did anyone see? I was under the impression it was only a few to begin with.

First time traveling to TG, heading in from Indy. While in Decorah, know I should also hit Pulpit Rock. Saturday hoping to push on to Forager by noon, then back east to Funk Factory for Sat evening.

Would appreciate your suggestions about other breweries and particularly bottle shops (bourbon, rye, scotch, japanese whiskey, cognac) in, and in-between Decorah, Rochester & Madison. Thanks for the help.

If your taking the highway back, 608 is a good stop in La Crosse. Working draft in Madison but not sure if their open with Covid.

Steve's Liquor in Mad town, and Woodmans in either Onalaska or either Madison spots would be a good stop for bottle shops. Trixies in Madison is also pretty good.

Enjoy the trip, and drive safe.

Andy’s near the big ear of corn is solid in Rochester. I will second my home town brew house at 608. Steve’s in Madison as well. Festival or woodmans in Onalaska are both good choices but woodmans has a larger liquor store. You won’t find anything special there.

welcome. To clarify I meant for the festival and woodmans won’t have special liquors (eh taylor, etc) but woodmans will have a bigger selection. There beer selection however will have a good variety each and distributors are different to both so there will be some at festival not at woodmans and vice versa.

My goodness this thread is full of some serious petulance. The event is expensive no doubt, but maybe consider they are doing anything and everything they can to keep the doors open/lights on during a pandemic?? So many whiners....

They have Mornin Delight on tap at Leisure Time Sports in Prairie du Chien, which is about 45min. away from TG.

I was going to say it’s out of the way, but I guess it depends on the way you choose to go. Apparently going up through Chicago then Madison then the country roads of Wisconsin will save you 4 minutes than going 74 through Davenport and up, which is probably the way I would go.

if you do go through PDC starks is a good bottle shop but I’m pretty sure they hide their good stuff in the back for their “regulars”. You can however buy a boat, hard liquor, guns and ammo there.

For the price of one bottle of DB Assassin + travel costs I can easily buy a full case of BCBS. 100% not worth it. I won the lottery and will pass. In 2014, I purchased a full case of Assassin bottles (over 3 days, 4 bottle limit per day) at $20 each and felt like I was overpaying then.

Just wait till F-22 Raptor is released. That is the original name but has to be renamed because of copyright issues. The butt hurt will be very strong with that one

Haha quick to name calling speaks a lot. I’ve been a member since 2019 so I have no idea the cost of beers 10 years ago because BA join date = date you’ve been around craft beer.

you entered a lottery knowing full well the cost of the beer, the need to travel to the brewery to pick up (no proxies) and then you come here to complain about said costs after you win. Sounds to me like this is all on you and not TG

You felt like you were overpaying, yet you took the trip, 3x over, to get said overpriced bottles....The logic doesn't add up.
