You do realize some people don't work 9-5 m-f and coordinating time off for just a beer can depend on the ability to actually be available for a 4 hr (and likely overnight stay) on the given dates IF the opportunity presents itself...

Again, I enter in the off chance I win and CAN make myself available for the time, travel, and expense... and because I CAN.

Easiest trade off you could ask for - my wife essentially has an open-ended IOU for me taking off and going up there. The “cost” could be enormous!
