Went to TG today knowing they appreciate me. Picked up a few MDs and a few peach brandy NT. Their food game is going downhill but dino park is in point

Is TG a stickler for pick up windows?

Saturday is all full except 7pm. I’d love to pick up earlier that day so that I’m not getting him at 10-11 at night. Weekdays don’t really work either for a 6hr round trip.

Might have to do Sunday but curious if I bought the 7pm but came earlier in the day if it’d matter.

I’ve seen on social media people ask them and them say If you can’t make it in the window then don’t sign up for that. But I’ve seen people show up with friends in earlier window and pick up fine.

I haven't had issues picking up the same day way earlier than my window in the past.

Not in my experience. I picked up Toppling Waters last year earlier in the day than my pick up window was scheduled for and intend to do the same here with the Assassin variants.

And those times were actually sold out too. But I'm sure some people grabbed some tickets.

I’m Sunday at 3 but hopefully get there early and they’ll let me pick up. Though might bring kids to do something around Decorah too and then time will matter less

Any word on the draft list for the Bramble / vanilla Assassin release? Wondering specifically what the odds are that one or both will be on draft when I'm there Wednesday 9/14... Haven't been for a while so not sure what the usual is

Do they usually last the whole release period or will they kick ?

Cool yeah I saw that shortly after I posted but my real interest lies in whether they're likely to still be on draft when I'M there :sunglasses:

It really depends. They’ve never really done a prolonged release outside of covid. But when things like sr-71 was released it was on draft for like 3 weeks before kicking.

Word is there is plenty to go around, so I would assume it would last for most of the release.

I apologize if this is off-topic, but in case anyone is interested: Happy's Wine & Spirits in Cedar Falls is hosting an Assassin tasting on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. I don't have too many details, but can fills will be offered.

I have to work that evening, so I won't see you there. :sob:

Maybe I have been horribly inattentive, but when did they change from garroting a barrel to a sword.

Bramble assassin is the best of the assassins this year. Super jammy. Makes just getting one vanilla worth while. Rather have 2 bramble than VB

Appreciate your posts always, but for perspective would you mind clarifying how much you enjoy other fruited stouts (noteworthy ones particularly, if you know).

My thought is that if you always like them, this is a much lesser compliment than if you rarely like a fruited stout.

Also, curious on if you could detect much barrel, given that it …IS a fruited stout.

I love Jam the Radar to start with. My thoughts on Bramble on tap was so much berry juice when cold. Then as it warmed more barrel did start to come through and the berry dropped off a bit. I do like it but I feel like it might be better in 6 months as the berry settles and mellows. Right now it is really intense. Especially next to vanilla, which was as amazing as 2019 vanilla bean assassin.

I enjoy fruited stouts, northwoods was over powering at first but settled down with age. It’s like a more mellowed northwoods. The berry is a subtle tartness on the back end, would compare it to. Chocolate covered tart blueberry, not a huge barrel presence overall but as it warms its there more.

The VB Assassin is good honestly it’s the same as 2019, that’s not a bad thing I think it’s perfected, but I just enjoyed the bramble so much More than I’ve enjoyed an assassin since 2018 coffee assassin

I hear great things about what they do with Huckleberries.

Their head brewer is named Jim.
