In spirit... probably. In practice... Of course not but, I also don't think there was any kind of conspiracy going on. That's just silly.

So only 500 Tickets and no date on when to sign up for the lottery

 

Not to be difficult but, it wasn't a lottery last year. It was the first 500 people to reply with a correctly worded email after a tweet went up. They did give a heads up the day before but no indication what time they would tweet. If you didn't happen to be on a device and respond within about 15 minutes (experiences may vary), you were sol. They have alluded to doing it in a similar fashion this time but who knows. Apparently soon doesn't mean what some of us thought it does.

 

I also recall that it was the first 500 emails received that had contact information for the entrant and also a disclaimer. I think at some point they even tweeted to remind people to include the disclaimer. I remember that there was confusion about this and that some people's entries that were sent before others were disqualified because even though they were among the first 500, their messages did not include the disclaimer. I also remember seeing tweets asking people to be patient because the disclaimer requirement meant that they actually had to read through hundreds of emails. Maybe this year they won't do that to themselves!

Looks like Mornin' Delight details are coming in at 1:00 pm today.

 

So last year they just posted a specific email address, and you reply back with your name, and disclaimer? That's it? No brownpapertickets link, or anything like that?

 

Yep, it was just an email.

 

It was a disclaimer saying basically, "I promise to show up and give you $100."

They didn't want people no-showing, basically.

 

Does anyone have the disclaimer from last year? I'm going to fire an email off right at 1 with it before reading the instructions.

I wouldn't be surprised if they switched to something like BPT to prevent people from saying they will be there, and not showing up. Looks like they ended up with a lot of no shows based on the random cases of MD that they've had appear.

Personally I think entering early is a horrible idea. I think they said something about striking multiple entries last year so people didn't game the system, and I certainly wouldn't want to take the risk that my early entry wouldn't count.

On second thought - start blasting them now... more bottles for the rest of us refreshing our twitter feeds.
