Hahaha-There are no simple New England threads! I will help muddy the water further- I think King Sue is better than almost every beer I have tasted from Tree House or Trillium. 14.99 bucks a bomber better? NO! but if the pricing comes down in cans and I can buy it fresh without being on Instagram, then I will be happy to buy my way out of going to Tree House and Trillium.

Agreed. If TG distributes fresh cans at a good price point, King Sue, Pseudo Sue and Sosus are just as good, if not better, than most comparable things in the NE market.

I don't get the TG availability frustration or concerns about freshness. Their stuff has shown up twice in 6 weeks and at least at the spots near me hasn't necessitated a mad rush to the store. The cans are cheaper than Trillium, Singlecut, SoS, etc. - the price point is one of the best on store shelves for hoppy 4 packs. Can't disagree that the bombers are a joke, but I'm also willing to take them for their word that they're being phased out. And freshness? Both times this stuff hit so far the canning dates were all of two weeks prior. There's stuff that stays on at Trillium that long. Imo, that is more than fresh enough, especially for beer coming from halfway across the country.

If you like fruity IPA's there might not be a place with more options than Mass, but if these guys start coming in every two weeks and the variety of can options continues to increase, I still think they're going to do gangbusters. At the risk of overhyping them it's almost hard for me to believe they've done as much right as they have right out of the gate here.

I had PS about a year ago in Chicago, and I think it must have been on the older side as it was completely underwhelming. I got what may have been the last four pack at Fort Point yesterday with the March date and found the beer to be excellent. A great bridge between NE and West Coast IPAs in that it has both the mouthfeel and juiciness of a NE, yet maintains some of the welcome bitterness of the West Coast style.

The beer shelves everywhere are a mess, and I don't have the time or the liver to sort through all these choices.

At $9.99/4 Golden Nugget was really fantastic. Wish I had grabbed more than one box.
Snagged a 22 oz. of Mosaic Nugget too for $9.99, was good and didn't feel too bad about it.
Couldn't pull the trigger on Sosus at $14 but I'm sure someone else did.

I was psyched to see it in Westfield at Super Phipps yesterday. Picked up 4 pk of PS for $13. In the same cooler, there was Exhibit A, Springdale, etc for $3-4 more. I can't think of anything not awesome about this.

Haven't tried much in the way of "new" offerings on the shelves recently because I feel like I waste my money every time I go out on a limb. However, I do have to say I grabbed a bottle of King Sue during the first release and grabbed a 2 week old 4pk of Psuedo Sue last night and they are both great. Psuedo Sue at $13 a 4 pk is friggen delicious and blows all the standard offerings at my usual stores away. I welcome the addition and will most definitely buy up as much King Sue as possible once it makes it into 4pk format. Trillium/Tree House/Proclamation/Night Shift make great stuff, but it's definitely nice to see others be able to hit if not exceed that mark.

As has been discussed at length in this thread... PS in cans before say December/January was brewed at Brewhub in FL, not by TG. Not really close to the same beer as was produced in Iowa before having it contract brewed. After PS went to brewhub a few years ago the only PS brewed in Iowa were the variants. DDH, Mosaic DH and Galaxy DH, and these were only in bombers. (And phenomenal)

Still amazed they stick with the bombers of some of the hoppy beers, especially with a canning line. I would think the customer appeal of that packaging for hops is pretty low at this point in time.

Yeah, if Pseudo Sue is $13 or less and Pompeii is around $11, I honestly don't see myself buying many of the local 4-packs that are priced higher. Haven't tried the other TG beers yet, but will. Pseudo Sue, to me, is a world class beer and if it's hitting shelves here less than a month after canning, I will buy it every time I see it.

Had King Sue last night, pretty darn good. Maybe the haziest beer I've ever had.
Looking forward to golden nugs tonight after work

It's incredibly hazy, a gimmick that gets me every time. I think King Sue and BBB Reciprocal are comparable in opaqueness. DDH Psuedo Sue is as well, is also one of the best pales I've had, and hopefully will find it's way to MA at some point.

Next Can you probably see. Fire Skulls and Money. Single IPA that imo is better than Julius.

We have yet to see these in Cans in IA but fairly soon I reckon

Background. It's hopped with Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy. Then dry hopped with Nelson hops. Juicy up front with a bite on the back

tried each of my other offerings, pompeii and SOSUS.

Pompeii was incredibly tropical with a light fluffy mouthfeel.

Yes, I paid the dumb SOSUS bomber price and it'll be a 1 time purchase, but if it gets in cans for near the going rate for a 4pk of DIPAs I'll buy it when I see it. Yet another awesome mosaic beer that has me convinced my early distaste for mosaic was either due to poor ingredients or poor brewing. Absolutely delicious.

And for good measure just had my first post-easter meal beer, going back to Golden Nugget. Just had the last sip and my mouth is left watering. Delicious beer.

They are on par with any of the best IPAs I get in new england. I was skeptical of them finding a place in the market, and maybe it'll still be tough, but color me impressed.

Agree. If TG coming to MA has done nothing else it’s convinced me that I can still enjoy single-hopped Mosaic beers.

I was enjoying the relative under-the-radar presence of TG in our area - but I just noticed boston.com is running an article on their distro in MA now. Interesting to see if media exposure like this here in MA increases demand among the segment of the craft crowd that generally just goes by hyped brand names (i.e. lawsons) which starts causing the 1-per, or "have to ask for it" situations at stores.

If there was question whether TG would get traction in the market, I suppose we have most of an answer. The question always remains whether it can be sustained in any fashion after the initial hype. Has anyone had the pilsner? It is all that was left on the shelves in a couple of stores. In any event, I find that the downfall of many entrants in the market is pushing sub par entries that end up being shelf turds, which deteriorates the value of the brand. So far, it seems as though people are pleased with the TG offerings across the board (bomber pricing excepted, of course).
