Oh good god. This site is getting out of control. People stalking canning dates like it will change their lives? Good luck. I'm signing off.

You can't be serious, right? This site is crazy focused on how fresh beers like this are, and it's nothing new.

Of course, you won't see this since you've signed off.

Wait, people who are super obsessed with beer are being obsessive about beer?

    That's it, I'm signing off... :stuck_out_tongue:

    Its about time! :stuck_out_tongue:

In other news, I grabbed some PseudoSue from a 1/26 batch - need to revisit some fresher stuff to determine if I still think that beer is as good as I once did.

I don't know about you guys, but if I'm not having an IPA straight from the brew chamber, it's too old.

So how hard is to find Psuedo and King in the Chicago land area? I am visiting my brother in Naperville in a week and would love to get my hands on some TG hops. Thanks!

PsuedoSue in cans (the ones brewed in Florida) you won't have any difficulty finding at any Binny's that you go to. Will have stacks.

KingSue you won't find anywhere as it hasn't reached Chicago distro yet.

Thanks for the quick reply-maybe I will try to set up a trade for King then. and since you replied so quickly, maybe you can tell me if it is easy to find Ninja Vs Unicorn?

Yes it is. Ninja vs Unicorn is also readily available at vast majority of Binny's (just check the canning date at the bottom of the cans.. some Binny's will have two different batches and you definitely want to make sure to grab the fresher one).

But may I suggest also grabbing some Lizard King? I know people have their preferences, but for me I generally reach for Lizard King over NvU. Lizard King is an all Mosaic hop IPA, whereas NvU is Citra + Mosaic. You won't go wrong with either choice. Just wanted to throw it out there that Lizard King is not to be overlooked.

King Sue hit Wisconsin this past week and Iowa the week before. It's definitely not on any shelves, but shouldn't be too difficult to trade for depending on what you have.

Along with Sue and N v. U - Id suggest grabbing some Navaja from Half Acre. Its my favorite canned DIPA on the market right now and its readily available.

All great, but if you don't get Abrasive out there, I highly recommend that as well. It's pricey, but it's been on sale for 16 a 4 pack lately.

FWIW, Zombie Dust from 3 Floyds has been both fresh and readily available the last couple months. If you run across a fresh six pack, I highly recommend it.

Tried Tsunami for the first time (1/30 bottling date) and it is really good. A bit more malty than what I usually drink, but complex and flavorful.

Just keep in mind why it has been on sale, though...it wasnt all that long ago that we we chasing Abrasive, now it has become a shelf turd.

I'd also put Todd the Axeman in the group of local'ish beers to grab. It's my favorite offering from Surly.

It and Darkness are my two faves. I used to love Abrasive when there were less citra offerings around, but Todd fixes most of my "issues" with Abrasive.

*If you can find it reasonably fresh. Shelf turd Todd I've been silly enough to purchase without checking the dates here were 8 months old. Sorry Surly, you lost me on canned offerings on that one.

I feel like at this point "if you can find it reasonably fresh" is implied for all IPAs.
