I'm heading to Des Moines for the weekend and am wondering what's currently on the shelves from TG. Any good recommendations on stores/bars? Thanks!
Won't find any TG beers on shelves. You can usually get growler fills of Golden Nugget IPA or Dorthy's Lager at El Bait Shop. They also currently have Naughty 90 IPA on tap, along with those previously mentioned (no growler fills of Naughty 90). As previously mentioned, Zombie Burger and The Library usually have a handle or two of TG flowing as well. Another good craft beer bar is The Keg Stand in West Des Moines. If you are into German beers, Hessen Haus is a must. English beer...check out The Royal Mile and while there, the upstairs bar is called Red Monk, which is a great Belgian beer bar. For breweries, check out Confluence (taproom is great), Exile, 515 Brewing, Rock Bottom and Raccoon River. Best shops: Pleasant Hill HyVee, HyVee on Fleur Dr., WineStyles in West Des Moines and Beer Crazy.
Noticed how I put it last in that list. And I agree....a better suggestion probably would have been Court Avenue Brewing Co. I'd go back and edit if I could!
