I'm driving up from TX to MN and plan on stopping in Des Moines to grab some TG. Never had it. What do you think I will be able to grab and where? Looks like it's only in Hyvee's in Des Moines? If I can get some, what are the must haves? Thanks! Bryan
The mills civic store will probably be the easiest, it's right off I35 555 S 51st St (Mills Parkway & I-35) West Des Moines, Iowa 50265 Just off I-35, at the northeast corner of I-35 and Mills Civic Parkway.
IMO, Prairie Trail in Ankeny and Fleur in DSM (both Hy Vee locations) seem to get the most. I'm excited for the Golden Nugget 4pks delivering later this week. What beers you can/can't find will depend on when your trip is, but the supply has been strong enough lately that I'm sure you'll find some TG.
Govlady was wondering how your trip is going/went. I will be in Des Moines on the 25th and will be looking for a bottle or two myself. In for results. Did you take any Yellow Rose to Iowa? Just wondering if anyone would be interested .
Don't sleep on the Urbandale Hy-Vee they seem to have gotten tons of all the recent releases of TG. Still had lots of G-Nug, Rover Truck, and Dorothy's from the last shipment, I think they are probably one of the bigger drops at this point
We just passed through real quick and stopped by the mills civic hy-vee. they didnt have anything other than Dorothy's. They weren't too educated on beer there...the girl working there said she doesn't usually work in the spirits section. I would just follow the DSM Hy-vee's on twitter and whatever hy-vee posts a shipment, go there.
Mills Civic and the most westward accounts seem to be getting less, but that could all change with Johnson Brothers now.
