Noticed Toppling Goliath on the shelves in St. Louis, MO. at Total Wine. Had all the cans, looked like.
The shelves are groaning underneath the weight of King Sue. Total Wine, Manchester, MO on 1/28/19. Huge display, doesn't look like it's selling the lady at the store said. I really don't like the regular Sue and feel that I was ripped off early on when I purchased some of the FL Sue which went down the drain. I did buy a 4-pack of KS to try out. We'll see.
It's flying off the shelves at other places here, I'm not sure if it's beer folks avoiding the national chains like I do or what. I am very pleased that I can get KS off the shelf though, it's just as good as I remember the bombers being years ago.
Not having had them in a while, I picked up some Pompeii and Sosus. To my surprise, both were very turbid and hazy, didn't these used to only be semi hazy? I bought them because I thought they were TG's non flour added hoppy options
TG adds flour to their beers? This is not something I have heard and could use some confirmation that this is true or false if someone has it. In my experience, at least since the opening of the new brewery, all of their hoppy options have been turbid and hazy, as I imagine they were designed to be. Some (all) of the beers coming out of FL were definitely NOT hazy/turbid or up to their standard, which might explain your experiences in the past? I would purchase their hoppy stuff without concern at this point if you are thinking about it, although some price points for things like KS and FSM are quite high.
