I traded a 2018 Assassin for a 2015 (B2) Mornin' Delight 1:1. And aside from the B1 12 oz bottles, the rest go for less than that I think, especially the 2017 (B4) 12 oz bottles. Just drank the 2015 MD last week and it was probably the best beer i've ever had.

    Definitely not a Handjee.

I got a 2015 MD for a 2018 Assassin. 2016 MD trades for a bit lower, maybe Maman level? This is mainly because of the extra bitterness people complained about with the coffee I presume. And 2017 was supposedly a little better with the maple, but since it was in 12 oz bottles, it's more of the FO 2017 level as others said. I'd guess that the new batch would be more similar to the Maman level. And then the B1 12 oz bottles I'm pretty sure trade for higher than KBBS, maybe SR 2015 level?

Traded my MD b4 for Fuzzy b3 (x2) awhile ago. Pretty sure we expanded upon that.

This is interesting since I saw a '15 MD go 1:1 with '18 MD twice. So in theory, '18 MD should go 1:1 with '18 Assassin? This is a thought that I originally had but haven't seen closed.

Wow.. I'm guessing it's people who had more of the b2 and wanted to compare it to b5 and just wanted to get it done quick? I've seen the full MD b5 set including the glass listed for the same price as a single 18 Assassin or MD b2 on secondary.

I think the value of MD b5 is all over the board right now. I've seen single bottles go for upwards of $175 & as low as $120. That being said, I've also seen bottles of Assassin '18 list for $220 yet they don't close. I believe the confusion in value is due to other pages that razzle bottles. People think that a bottle is based on those prices which are very misleading. At the end of the day, it's truly up to those who hold each bottle involved within said trade. Personally, I think b5 & assassin should be pretty close to 1:1 based on $:$ & availability. That's just my opinion though.

Why do you think MD B5 is as available as Assassin (Orange)? I'd be shocked to learn that there's as many Assassin Bottles as MD B5.

When I say availability I'm referring to how both were ticketed events.

Are you implying there were as many tickets?

Also, MD B5 was a "Try to get your ticket," vs. Assassin was a "Put your name in a Hat and you might win" event.

Can you clarify? A little confused still.

Yeah, was it easy to get the MD ticket? I tried but forgot to get online that day until 3 minutes after it started, so I obviously missed it lol. I think Assassin had 1500 tickets? So 3000 bottles?

People who got tickets for MD had the same chances as a lottery in the aspect of actually being able to purchase them. I know a lot of people who logged on & got shut out after sitting on hold. Either which way, it's luck of the draw. Either you're chosen in a lottery or you're able to get a ticket before it sells out within seconds.

Tickets didn't sell out for either nearly an hour or over an hour. Can't recall which. I was there sitting, plugging away trying to get tickets for the entire time though. Everyone that got tickets that has done this in the past for other ticketed events indicated that it was much easier for them to get tickets than for other events.

By all accounts, it seems like this was not so much "luck of the draw" for some people, while for others (myself included) it certainly was.

I definitely disagree that this was a "lottery" like Assassin. For Assassin it was literally luck; for MD definitely not "just luck."

I was late to try to get the ticket this year, but back in 2016 when BPT crashed, that was shit. I would rather miss out in a lottery than that shit.

i think 3 factors would keep MD b5 from being 1:1 with orange assassin:
    1. Assassin is BA’d
    2. MD has to have a higher bottle count
    3. you could “bring a guest” for MD*

*i would like to add though that this doesn’t mean that everyone brought a mule. my brother was lucky enough to get tickets online and put me as his guest, so not everyone was leaving with 4 MD (which i think the vast majority of people are assuming at this point.) i don’t remember a single person ISO an entire 4pk of MD last year yet this year 90% of MD b5 ISOs are for the set..again, because i think people are under the assumption that everyone was leaving with 2 sets. i’m sure some did. however the leftovers for sale this year were way less than last year.

Eh... as I said, I tried 3 minutes after the tickets went on sale, so they definitely didn't last an hour or even 5 minutes.

I’m going to go ahead and quote myself to, again, reiterate why I dont think MDb5 and Assassin ‘18 will ever be 1:1.

I have both MDb5 and Assassin 18. If you were offering me MDb5 for Assassin ‘18 1:1, I’d never do that trade, even though I think both beers are great. But if are offering me Assassin ‘18 for my MDb5 1:1, I can do this trade with you 4 times.

They did - there's a difference between "not available" and "sold out." Check the TG thread - people were definitely getting them for a LONG time after the initial sale. (I think this came off snarkey, but I don't mean for it to.)

Good point about the guest. Totally forgot about that. Everybody could bring their GF/wife/whatever and they'd have 4 bottles.

I mean I see what you mean. That shit happened to me with DB Speedway last year. But Not Available usually means while they haven't necessarily been purchased yet, they're still already in someone's cart and 99.9% of the time will be purchased as long as their phone/computer doesn't crash.
