I was coming at it from a consumer benefit standpoint.

You did say you were still buying one, so maybe more of a gentle nudge?

Again, I too want more beer for less. I just think you are ignoring some of the facts.

King Sue is coming in cans.

Many of their other IPAs are already available in cans.

That suggests more will come in cans unless other circumstances prevent it.

Scorpius cost $30 as a growler fill. They’ve already set the price. Some of you were happy to slurp it up at that price, and now you’re complaining when they make it available for distribution at a similar price.

At least in Iowa, TG is not competing with swaths of 64oz of limited IPAs in cans for $17-20. They don’t really exist outside of TGs own beers. What’s available right now on the shelves? Waldo’s in bottles? I ask this everytime it comes up and no one can tell me where all these cheap awesome IPAs are hiding. Crowlers, etc filled at a brewery are not comparable.

Finally, TG seems to be very into branding and labels. I’m just speculating, but I think the flexibility and turn around time of the paper labels makes it easier for them to do special releases in bottles. So, maybe the real pushback needs to come in the form of convincing TG we don’t care as much about the labels and they should be willing to use some sticker labels for cans.

By ‘many’ do you mean two?

Three (PseudoSue, Golden Nugget, Pompeii), but who's counting?

Why do I have to be the TG defender? I want to complain too dammit, but I have to spend all my time correcting the record!

Just for the record, PseudoSue is a pale ale according to their website.

FSM and King Sue are coming to cans soon, and I've assumed that they will move most of their IPAs to cans in the coming months/year. Given the new brewery has only been in operation a short time it seems they have made it a priority to move a lot of their portfolio to cans instead of bottles. I wouldn't be surprised to see a much larger canned IPA collection from them this time next year.

King Sue is shown as in cans on their web site. So, 4 then (a IIPA counts as 2, right?)

Or, as the Mad Hatter once said, "Don't let's be silly!" :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you really have interest in arguing this or just more stupid trolling from the "MN hop boiz"?

No interest in arguing, just helping get the facts out there. Also, I’m not sure what a boi is but for the record, Psuedo Sue is the best pale ale I’ve ever had.

Yea, sorry, I thought maybe you just hadn't seen Pompeii yet. TG can call it whatever they want. At 6.8% ABV, Pseudosue is too big to be classified as an APA. The Brewer's Association publishes detailed guidelines for styles:

How much do you anticipate the King and FSM cans will be? The $12 bomber is equivalent to $35/4 pack of 16oz cans. $10/bomber is $29.

I'd speculate 14.99. Pompeii and Sue bombers were 8-10$

Yup. There's been very little correlation between bomber pricing and can pricing, per ounce.

Are king cans specd to be a regular, on the shelf release?
