I mean people sell Rare for $500. It's not that much of a stretch for a truly rare beer that's hyped to all hell to get so much more. I've seen it up for $1.5-2k, but, I didn't see it sell so can't confirm if it was final.

I was thinking I'd drive up anyway, but right now I'm salty enough to just say screw it. I'm pretty sure I'll live if I never have Assassin or KBBS and I'm not sure blowing a vacation day and 5 hours of driving is worth it for the possibility of getting a small Assassin pour. I'm getting really burned out on being on the outside looking in.

I'd assume the 4 additional bottles aren't special, but limited so as to ensure bottles for the later arriving groups and folks that come after open. But you never know...

 

Hopefully they do something special for the other 4 beers.. It would be amazing if they bottled some Scorpius Morchella. I would make the drive myself just to buy some of that once you all go home with your new presents.

So the thing is, my wife is just as into it as I am. She actually won the MD lottery as well and picked up our bottles solo while I continued enjoying the bottle share

 

Rochester has a nice cozy airport if that is an option for you. Super easy drive from there. Or, if all else fails and if the price is right: MPLS is an ok drive too.

I'm going to try to swing a quick trip. Fly in that morning, drive, and fly back home that evening. Weather needs to cooperate.

 

Do they let your copilot/DD come in with you if they didn't win? Not for more bottles but just so I survive the long drive from MKE?

 

Damn man that's pretty cool, not to mention the humble brag on winning earlier as well. Shit! If it was a different time of year my lady would be all for it, but we are already all over the place for other beer events this Winter and the travel strains are too many.
