Hey OP, be thankful you can actually trade for TG beer. Where I live, there's nothing remotely worth a PseudoSue or Assassin on the shelves/behind the counter/what have you.

MD's over-regulation on beer sucks ass. And there's my problem "tight money flow" for a few months now...

Clark mentioned 4 or 6-packs of MD at one point...not sure if that's a thing, but I know they're making way more of it this year. They got the new brewhouse opened and running early this year, so everything is coming out faster.

On top of that, the first batch of Sue they brewed on the new system appeared miraculously at 7% with the same recipe. Apparently the new rig is more efficient than the old. The new batch was dubbed 7sue, and was noticeably different than the original 5.7%. Both are delicious, and King Sue might be the best of all. There's also rumor of an imperial version of Zeelander coming, which is the Nelson hop IPA. I'm really looking forward to that one. I might like Zee better than Sue, but it's close. I'm a happy man to be able to get Zee, Sue, or GNug at my local watering hole every night.

I had a Zeelander and it was really good. I really hope to get a few more of their beers to try.

I had King Sue at Hunahpu Day and it was the probably the best DIPA that I have personally tasted outside of Vermont. I also have had some of their other beer and they were great as well with Dorothy (average) the only exception.

I've had Pseudo and it's phenomenal. right there with Edward for the best APA I've ever had. I need to try King Sue! I suspect most of their beers are world class.

Toppling Goliath stouts are galaxy-class beers. Their IPA/Pales are hit & miss for me.

Kentucky Brunch is one of my top 5 beers of all time. Morning Delight & Assassin are simply splendid. Any of them would be the top stout at 98% of breweries in the country...but Assassin is merely the third best stout TG puts out.

I've been less wowed by their lighter beers. PsuedoSue is, indeed, a work of art & definitely worth seeking out. The rest of the lineup for me has varied between good to downright awful. Sosus is very good, Zeelander & Golden Nugget are OK, the XHops, well, they've ranged from decent to abysmal.

Not knocking TG by any stretch: any brewery that can brew four world-class beers within a fairly small portfolio is top-notch in my book.

Just received a major TG haul from a very generous trader. Drank the 32oz. growler of King Sue and it was amazing. Have bombers of 7Sue, Red Xops, Zeelander, Sosus and another 32oz. growler of Golden Nugget. Good times ahead!

The ISU win over UNC was glorious. And to think that Deandre Kane, who scored over 20 points and made the winning shot, is from Pittsburgh. WTF!? Pitt never gets players with that kind of skill set. Will be rooting for them against UCONN.

Oh yeah and about TG... hear nothing but great things. Hopefully I'll get to try those killers IPAs sometime.

Believe the hype. Anything that is hop forward seems to be done extremely well.

I'm fortunate to live within 15 minutes of Casanova's, where Sue, Golden Nugget, Zeelander, and one or two of their offerings are available for growler fills most of the time. At a little over $8 for a growler, it's hard to pass up Sue, even with Alpha King and Sucks on tap recently. A mistake by a worker filling the growler a few months ago introduced me to Golden Nugget, which is a very drinkable and well done IPA, but it's no Sue. Golden Nugget is certainly worth the rating it has, but so is Sue with it's solid 100. Personally, I enjoy it more than Zombie Dust.

It's decent beer. Nothing to see here, move along. Oh and don't look at my reviews.

Toppling Goliath is an incredible brewery. I became aware of them a few years ago (pre-hype train), and I can assure you that anything you can do to try any of their offerings will be worthwhile.

Hoping they make it into Milwaukee sooner than later, dying to try their stuff (and I keep tabs on them just in case I can get a lift to 3 Cellars before they sell out, ha).

They make great beer and no doubt the rest of the Midwest will soon have their beer...probably before all of Iowa does. That, of course, is by choice. It sells everywhere it goes and Iowa is not densely populated.

Having never heard of them before EBF, they were on my radar when I walked in only because I'd researched the fest's offerings and saw their ratings and reviews. Apparently, either I and my ignorance were in the minority, or everyone that made it in before me had done the same thing I had- theirs was the first table I approached (about 5 mins after the line on the street started to move into the building- on the first night) and the line was already 3/4 of the way across the ballroom. Meant to try Zeelander, but King Sue and Sosus kept demanding further scrutinization...until finally all 3 were tapped :slight_frown:
