I like going to Toronado on regular non-event days. Especially during happy hour when everything is $1 off.

I noticed that they had Matt (2013) bottle for $30. I remember drinking 2010 bottle at Brouwers for $20 or something like that back in 2012 or 2013.

Do they have a bottle list now?

Yeah but nothing too crazy. I think I saw Barfly for $25 and a few others. No Cable Car if that's you wanted to know.

Nothing specific, just don't remember seeing that last time I was there.

Yeah it was on the back of .. a spirit/wine/cocktail list.... thingy... it was not part of the main menu but it was a coated piece of white paper. They had about 10-15 bottles on the list. Hope this helps.

I asked Bonney about Cable Car at the grand opening party hoping that they'd have bottles by then. He said they would have the 2014s by the end of the year. In other words, Tomme is waiting for them to carbonate.

Great news! Yeah, when I was in SD this June, I had a chance to try Cable Car but unfortunately they only had 2007 or 2008 vintage for 150 or 175 dollars (for 12.7 oz bottle). I passed on it and glad I did!

When new bottles of Cable Car were released, what have they gone for in the past at the other Toronados?

The last time I had Cable Car at Toronado SF was back in '10, I believe, and it was $40. It's gone up since then. I think the most recent vintage was/is $60.

Crap that's nuts! Was it bottled or on draft? I love me some BT and it's cousins but I'll stick to getting bottles at 12 bones a 6oz it's cheaper. I wonder if Grey Monday was on the list what that would go for.... 15 or so. Sounds like a cool bunch of events but the price eeek!

I feel you, brother. I really like Matt and want this venture to succeed big time, but I ain't paying $9 for a 6 oz. pour of nuthin'.

It cost me more than 48 dollars (after shipping, beers I had to give up, etc.) to land a bottle of 24 oz CR, so yeah it was worth it for me. Not related to this but yeah for me personally, I enjoyed CR a lot more than GM. Many would disagree with my palette though.

My wife and I were in Seattle this weekend and stopped in at Toronado. We had a lot of fun there. There's no question it's a little pricey, but far for prohibitive, especially for Canadian visitors who can't get much of the taplist back home. Even though we always stay downtown Seattle, we'll undoubtedly routinely make the trip out to Toronado when we're in town.

Although the selection of hotels and the quality of hotels is greater in downtown, you and your wife should consider a stay at the Hotel Deca near the University of Washington the next time you take a trip to Seattle. It's much closer to the beer action in North Seattle and it's a nice place --- I've been in the lobby and the bar and people who've stayed in the rooms say they're nice.

I really dig Toronado in general, but they need to rethink their food menu. It's overpriced and really not impressive. They're trying to shoot for the moon with all the fancy head cheese and whatnot, but they need some simple staple items to balance things out. The daily sausage is only thing worth ordering IMO and it's just okay.

My 2 cents (ducks and covers)

Thanks BuckeyeOne and dirtylou for the tips. I'm usually downtown because of sports venues/shopping, etc. But it's good info to have. Especially considering how much I've ventured out of the downtown the past two visits for beer-related reasons.

To the last poster...my wife had the same thought. She found it a bit odd for them not to have something like a burger. I get that you're aiming to be a bit different, but you also probably benefit from providing options to your less adventurous clientele.
