    #1. Pour the beer into a glass
    #2. Smell it. If it doesn't smell repulsive go to #3. If it smells repulsive skip to #5
    #3. Taste it. If it doesn't taste bad go #4. If it tastes bad skip to #5
    #4. Drink it
    #5. Clean up: A.) Recycle the bottle. B) Pour any remaining liquid not consumed in a previous step out of the glass. C) Wash the glass. Note: If you do not know how to wash the glass please consult this thread: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/cleaning-glassware-for-beer.73428/

    It's not "help," it's advice. I've never had a bottle with a rusty cap before, nor have I had one that basically sat outside in the elements for years. It'd be really fucking dumb of me not to ask a simple question if it could save me a bad experience, esp. if there're any health risks. Better safe than sorry.

    I did wind up popping it, but it smelled off, so I'm not going to risk drinking it. Maybe it'll still kill some slugs.
