Central Floridians, Total Wine is popping up at the Southeast corner of I-4 & SR 436. Drove by today, and the lights were on and things were on there way. Look for an opening here soon.

I'm just happy I don't have to make that nightmare drive down Colonial Drive anymore to pick up my one can.

I'm waiting for a total to go in the apopka or west Orlando area. Abc is going in mount Dora so that will become my honey hole since in lake county there is not a lot of beer places to get limited releases.

I'm just happy we get another large retailer in the market to reduce the qty each store receives.

I know, I4 Ultimate is going to make the Altamonte / Millenia / Colonial Triangle drive quite slow on releases days

Here's a shot of what is on tap currently (French toast was getting low as of 3:30p)...

I spoke with several of the managers and employees trying to figure out their approach with craft beer. Their goal with growlers is to have stuff on the list that cannot be bought in bottles/cans on the floor making the list somewhat harder to find or specialty stuff. that's good for us if they can stick to it.

As of right now it's only 32oz. one of the assist managers said it had to do with their legal dept's interpretation of the law and that they wanted some better clarification before they went full blown 64oz (the board does have a 64oz spot ready to be priced.)

you can bring your own glass - i believe it must have a visible fill line and you have to be able to see into it. These are the same machines that ABC uses so viewing into the glass helps them hit the fill line without waste.

their glass is $3.99/each for those who need it.

I left with a French Toast and a City of the Keys. I grabbed my brother a BCBS and French Toast as well.

Not Growler notes - they had KBS and Seasonal Creep when they opened - it didnt last long. MOre KBS tomorrow if the Store Manager was right. As of right now, no special release bottles behind the counter - it is all on the shelf in front of the growler station up for grabs.

    Cheers.

Nothing like 32oz. of draft BCBS for a hot south Florida July day... Seriously though, that is a nice list. Cheers to those nearby who look to have a pretty cool new place in their neighborhood.

Any idea if they would fill the CCB mini keg growler? Didn't think about the whole visible fill line thing.

I made it in line this AM and had a growler with me (64oz) but the filling station wasn't open yet.

Did manage to score some KBS and Creep and got a $10 gift card and plenty of coupons so can't complain.

Hoping the growler station makes it to the other stores. With the purchasing power they have lord knows they should be able to score a decent supply of good stuff, just hope they get the 64oz thing figured out quick.

Once night comes and you're in your crib, with the ac turned way low, listening to some kool jazz (or what ever) it can taste and drink just fine.

Everyone I spoke to was so new to the growler filling game that I couldn't get straight answers. Once they go to 64s, it might be worth asking again to see if they will do it.

Where my info came from: When I asked about 64s at ABC a few weeks back, the ABC staff they said they are only allowed to fill growlers that they can see into so they know when to stop at the fill line and not run over. The growler has to be clearly marked as well. I'm putting two and two together since Total Wine is using the same machine. If I am wrong I will be pleasantly surprised.

They got the growler station working today. I got there at 3pm when it wasn't open and then I came back at 8:00 and I got the last pour of BCBS, which filled up a quarter of the way and they said they couldn't sell it to me... :astonished:
