Total Wine Online Orders

In short, I don't trust their (TW) online inventory/ordering at all. I've had them confirm an order, cancel it, then not tell me until I showed up to get it. It was an hour trip wasted. However, you can call them and ask questions and they'll hold stuff for you (check the dates, buy or don't). All of them have some decent IPAs in the fridge but like others said, it will be up to you to check dates.

If you're going to OBX via I664 Chesapeake TW is a bit out of the way where VaBch (TW and G&G) are significantly more out of the way. If you're coming down 64, Chesapeake TW is your best bet in terms of efficiency on and off the interstate. Also Let's Talk Wine in Chesapeake at the last exit before the toll booth on 168 - might be worth checking out and an easy hop off and on (that's less than a mile from where Big Ugly Brewing is too, I haven't been there yet though).

In terms of some of those beers, I've seen FW IPAs recently that were dated March bottling, but some on shelves from end of last year - yikes. Hardywood stuff moves pretty quickly though, if you can find what you're looking for it should be relatively fresh. Big boys like Stone and Ballast Point are here pretty fresh consistently, but I guess you might be looking for things you can't get in OH.

 

Which TW are you odering from? My store is actually pretty good about checking dates, since Im the one normally pulling those web orders.
