I just bought a "coldtower" tower cooler for my kezzer and I wanted to get thoughts on reducing the hose down to run into the tower. So I have my two lines running down the tower in a 3/4" copper pipe that extends about 1.5" into the kezzer and that has pipe insulation around it so the tower is very tight but seems to stay fairly cool. I was thinking about reducing the tower cooler line to like a 3/8" tube and run that halfway up the tower. Do you think this will work or should I pull it all apart and run the tube right from the cooling fan up the tower hole?

You want to run the cooler line all the way to the shanks.

Will it still effectively cool if I reduce the size of the hose? Here is where my lines run into the tower so you can see that it's a tight fit.

Before dispensing any advice, I have two questions.

    1. What is the diameter of the bottom of the tower in the pic?

    2. What is the beer line diameter?

Maybe it’s only me, but either those lines look awfully large or the tower is quite small.

You have to open that hole up to match the tower diameter. You need to provide space for the new line to go up, and the air to return. Can't speak to the effect of the diameter change you are talking about, but it won't help. Getting any air up there is a benefit.

Ok thanks, the hole for the lines is only about 3/4” that’s how it was setup when I got it. I can pull the tower off and open up the hole going into the top of the freezer and run the beer and cooler likes up into the actual tower. The beer line size is 5/16” 10’ lines.

Switch to 3/16" line. Start with 6'. Trim from there.
You really need to use 3/16" line. 1, it provides proper resistance. 2, less beer in the line is less beer to keep cold. 3, more open space to get air into.

You should push cold air all the way up to the shanks as @doug123 mentions.
You should leave enough open space to allow the cold air to fall into the keezer.

    Cheers.

So I opened up the hole to 2.5” and ran the beer lines and tower cooler up a piece of pipe insulation into the tower and man, what a difference. It’s always got condensation on the tower because it’s ice cold and the foaming issue is gone. Do you guys let the cooling fan run constantly or do you shut it off when your not using it for a few days?

    Congratulations on a successful modification.

The tower fan in commercial applications is on 24/7.
