How long do these keep? I've always just assumed I have to drink a growler within a couple days. Do they really last up to a few months like their release states?
"Note: Our brewery staff has aged these beers and they are ready for consumption. If you wish to cellar them, we suggest you do not do it for more than a few months, and you keep them cold. Growlers are great for getting and transporting beer, but they are not ideal for long-term storage."

I believe these are pressure filled, but however they do it, yes they last for months. A couple days is when it's filled straight from the tap and not vacuum sealed - growlers from the nova. I know some who have aged these up to a year, but I don't see the point.

Forgive me, I haven't tried grabbing a growler from TH during this week. IIRC, these are ticketed growler sales? I would love to try some of these beers!

I just drank my Foolish Angel from last year the other night and it tasted just as good as I expected and remembered from past years. I still have two more growlers taking up space but I'm not worried about them going bad. Didn't intend to sit on them that long, just never had a reason to break them out and by the time the weather warms up, I'm not really in the mood to drink a heavy barrel aged beer. Keep in mind, they've been sitting in the same spot in my refrigerator since the day I brought them home.

If they are counter-pressure filled like in the past, they'll store just like a bottle. I've had 3-4 year old growlers of Czar Jack that while not as good as fresh, did not suffer from the lag time. I haven't had experience aging the new 750ML growlers, though.

They have a presale on Sunday, then the beers release on various days the following week. I've never actually been there for the BA week either (which seems very foolish in hindsight).
Does anyone know what time the line generally starts forming?

Some nutjob showed up right after bar closing last year (or was it '15?). I won't tag him here. He's a lot bigger than I am.

Generally the line doesn't start to swell until about an hour before they open. I've been in line between 8:30 - 9:00 AM each of the past four years & had no trouble getting what I wanted...nor, surprisingly, has there been increased craziness surrounding the ticket release. Pretty sure it's because you can go get a glass of any of the beers during the week, so buying growlers is strictly for us super-geeks.

Another newbie question, i plan on getting there before 9am numbering, have they done that in the past? Can I leave the line to get breakfast and then come back at 10? or number is just a number and im stuck there

Gentlemen, I'm not sure when and where the fake news began, but Town Hall has never counter pressure filled their growlers. They may hold up, but why risk it? Keep them in the fridge and drink 'em fresh!

I've had many aged growlers from TH. They've all been fantastic and held carb.

Source? Not doubting you (OK, I just said that to be polite), but I've been told this by employees at Town Hall. If you have inside information that contradicts what many of us have heard, by all means set the record straight.

I always believed they were counter-pressure filled too but now I don't know what to believe!
Here's some evidence to back up his claim:

@DineAlone responded in another thread that he works there. But I'm in the same boat. I swear I remember an employee telling me they counter pressure. **shrugs**

I work there. Maybe you were told that by employees or former employees that don't know what counter pressure filling is?

That was like the whole reason for not filling other growlers (the reason I have been given numerous times)... so why not fill outside growlers, then?

Interesting @MNBeerGeek , because I've been told the same thing. It wouldn't be the first time I heard bad information from a brewpub/bar/liquor store employee.

@DineAlone how are they filled? And do you know how long they've been filled that way? Because if they aren't counter-pressure filled & haven't "ever" been, there's been a lot of misinformation slung across that bar!
