Who is going to Lost Abbey this weekend for the releases? What time is everyone trying to get there?

Gonna get there at 9, doubt its gonna be as hyped as they think. Red Poppy has never really commanded a line

Why do people start topics like this? It just adds to the lines?

to piss you off. I can't believe I let the secret out. I totally forgot that beer is a secret and shouldn't be shared with people

Agreed, Red Poppy had quite a showing for Batch 1 but I don't think the line has been bad afterwards. Are any releases at LA bad anymore if they aren't selling a Veritas also?

I never inferred that beer or this release is a secret. Beer should not be a secret and this release is not due to Lost Abbey tweeting and posting it on their web page.

As of late the hype behind releases has driven people to get in line earlier and create demand on eBay or resale. Lost abbey has already taken the first initative and decided to open up early. Threads like this just add to people getting scared they won't get any beer and making resellers get there even earlier.

I never said you were trying to do any of the aforementioned things just weighing in. Don't take it personal after all it is the only the Internet and only beer.

I think I'll show, was planning to meet people there before I knew there was an event.

All of Lost Abbey beers (minus some sourz) now hit distribution, so for this there's no reason to show up early. I think I'll get there around...2pm. Or later.

The "Track" beers have usually (always?) been around a day or two after the Saturday release. And Red Poppy hits general distribution. YMMV, but I wouldn't think this release would be too crazy.

I'll probably go early to beat the afternoon tour bus crowds. Anyone up for a small bottle share as well?

Honestly I was surprised it was hush hush for as long as it was.

But to answer the OP's question, I will be there before I head up to the Reserve Society party. It's gonna be one hell of a day!

Track 1 and 2 were both around for over a week, Track 1 was on for about a month. I don't know why people are even talking about ebay and resellers, the Track X bottles are for on-site consumption only and who the hell would waste their time selling Red Poppy on ebay? The only "mess" on Saturday will be if the short buses show up (are they allowed to come by on release days still?)

We are getting there around 9ish. We did a small share at track 2.
I started this thread as a way for people to meet up and talk/meet each other. We usually try to get the barrels by the right side of the door when you are walking in. I will be in Giants gear. Come by and say hello

Yeah, the small bottle share was great. I feel bad about not bringing anything. I'll bring a couple of bottles anyway just case that happens again.

I may swing by after Churchill's. All depends how the beer flows.
