My favorite place. Truly sad to see it go...

Very sad news. I never made it down to the bar but have fond memories of hanging out with Dave at Shaun Hill's old Brewdowns. He was always in my face with a beer, saying 'you gotta drink this!' - and he was always right. Even nicer, he always found good things to say about the homebrew I brought. He brought down a couple of employees and great beer for the weekends, kind of a mini Track 84, I like to think.

Best wishes to all the Track 84 folks.

This is very sad news. I'm in Warwick on business several times a year and have hit up Track 84 for at least the last five years, every trip. I'll echo what others have said: service was great, no pretentious patrons, and always some random yet really tasty beers on draft, and tons of free absurdly salty popcorn (which I loved). My last trip down was in April. They had Sunday Morning Stout and High Westified on draft - I was very happy that afternoon. I will miss this place.

Yes! Brewdowns. Great way to get people to mix. Like a New England reunion. We gotta do a brewdown, granite style, invite Dave etc. But on a neighboring farm, and only if Denise comes down too.

The lack of pretense was one of the greatest features. You run into so many beer bars that play the "only one keg of this in the entire state and we have it" BS that leads to a $10+ 6-8oz pour of beer and herds of beer geeks looking to tick and talk about how the other years/variants were better. I know Track would occasionally post special beers to Facebook (KBS on its last night), but the place was honest and straight-forward with its tap list. Sometimes there were crazy things on tap, others just a normal lineup of a good mix of beers at fair prices. It's the kind of model that should succeed but without a kitchen I'm not sure it can, particularly in a location where almost all patrons have to drive.
