Further to the how many unique beers thread, is there a way of tracking what I've had on this site without having to post a review. I don't like posting reviews as I don't feel comfortable with my ability to discern different flavors etc. I was thinking of using the ' gots' as a way of doing this, but don't want to mislead the community with the size of my (not very big fridge/cellar/) collection.

I don't know if there is really any other way. I guess you could set up an excel sheet and just post to it as you have a new beer? This way you have a list and can make some notes on what you liked, etc.

You don't have to do an all out review to have your beers listed on your stats page. You can simply rate it from 1 to 5 on a few different points without explanation. That way you need not defend in words what you personally observe about each beer. Nobody can take any offense to what you perceive about a beer. Your ability to discern will also improve over time to where you might feel comfortable with full scale review

Doesn't it track if you rate and don't review?

I wouldn't use Gots to track the beers you've tried, because if anything changes with Gots the data could become less helpful or even lost.

Solution: As @dripa8 said, you don't have review (provide text) the beer's that you've tried. You can simply rate them beer using the 5 attributes. And the same applies to the places that you've visited.
