I'm a little confused as to the status of the 3 bottles that were "missing" from the second trade. Were those some of the same 2 that you tried to set up as a third trade and he no longer has? If not, do you even know if he has those 3? I agree with pretty much everyone here--trade 3 is nixed. He needs to send you the 3 bottles from trade 2 and be done with it, plus some sorry beers for being a dick. It gets trickier if he no longer has the bottles from trade 2 to send you.

Bad Trader. Would really like to know who it is to add them to my DNT list, but that's up to you.

Just curious which of these has rocketed in value? Last I heard both were being treated as disappointing and traded @ under $4$... but i'm not in the public trade forum much lately.

Considering it although this person may be making it right now, we'll see. If not, I will post here.

Black Tuesday Reserve value has gone up significantly since it was released.

"may be making it right" No, no he isn't. He is bending to the threat that you will out him. Not outing him only serves to protect him and allow this behavior to continue in the future with other traders, especially if you don't leave appropriate feedback. This feels like a "he blew up my porch so I left him good feedback" response when in a few months he screws someone else. Out him, you're doing the community no favors for asking for advice on this situation and then not naming the individual who is clearly a "bad trader" to a majority of those reading this thread.

I'm increasingly of the belief that "number of trades" may not be a great barometer for a trader's "quality," if you will. It seems to me the shady characters knowingly skim real trades, "make up for it" by sending a bunch of "extras" -- nothing more than a street hustler's diversion/sleight of hand -- and the recipient gives good feedback. That, in turn (as @Vivified points out), allows the person to continue the same nonsense because it appears, based on feedback, that he/she is a solid trader.

Based on what has already happened with the first two trades, I do not want to trade with the guy. How do you forget to put beers in the box!? Even if he sends an "I'm sorry" box he should still receive neutral feedback, if not negative.

if i mess up a trade, i always make it right. i had a trade set up for ba cakes and i send some pallets from cycle. i was supposed to send pallet 4 and another one (don't recall) but i accidentally sent pallet 3 (tequila one). both were same limits at cycle,a nd both are great beers. but the guy wanted the cofee variant. so i just said shoot me a label and he can keep the pallet 3. he overcompensated, which was a nice gesture and i sent him the pallet 4 we agreed upon. These things DO happen but it is up to the trader to make it right. no sense in him sending a beer back to me...it was my fault. i chalk it up as poor organization on my part and it ended up being his benefit. i make sure i take care of all my traders, whehter it is a one-time trader or repeat.

Way too many fuck ups for me to feel comfortable trading with this person. Behavior is way out of line. Time to out the culprit.

To the OP, are you waiting to receive the make-up box before outing him in an effort to avoid shaming the trader before you get what is yours? I can understand, but you need to understand that the longer you protect the identity of this clearly bad trader, the more time he has to do the same to someone else who may not have traded with him had they known about his behavior beforehand. The longer you wait, the closer you become being added to my own DNT list for protecting this bad trader.

IS there even a bad trader? Is this for real? Because seriously, if he's for real, out him. It needs to be done in order to help you get what you're owed, it's been nearly 9 months since it's happened man, it's now or never.

I think he was fishing for generosity and free bottles, because it seems that we care more about correcting the situation than he does haha.

@pumpkinsmasher either you used this forum & the BA community to leverage appropriate behavior from your trade partner to get you the beers you're owed, or you used the community to attempt a sympathy play for free beer.

Which is it? If it's the 1st then do your part & out him. The community deserves to know when its members are so egregiously slacking that a thread is required to get action from em.

IF it's the second...Well I'll play along. I have some archaic IPA/DIPAs I can part with. Just shoot me a shipping label & they're yours.

@pumpkinsmasher Any update to give the community on the status since your last post from Dec 9th? Will the trader in question be identified?

    Good evening everyone,

One thing I can say for certain, is that this community definitely prides itself on helping out our members when they are wronged in a trade. It is a sense of *family* that we can all agree on, come together, and throw our differences aside to help one another out.

@pumpkinsmasher reached out to me through private messaging. Below is my take and thoughts on our conversation. For the record, I have never spoke nor traded with @pumpkinsmasher before, but strictly based on his trade feedback (100%/59 trades) and our conversation, he truly seems like a stand up BA.

To answer a few of the questions posed in the last few posts. The scenario that the OP presented to the community is real. The OP wasn't looking for any *free* beer, sympathy, or leverage from the community. He was truly looking for advice from this community on a trader who has wronged him. We (including myself) never asked any questions on whether the trader was on BA, did the OP use the feedback system on BA, etc....nor did the OP disclose any of that information. For what its worth, if it was a trader on this site, he surely would have disclosed that information. The OP also apologies for any confusion or misleading with this thread. Before anyone has any reservations about the OP, he did come to this community, which he is a member, for help and not the *other* community where this trade took place. OP has gathered enough information, so I think the thread has run its course.

    Cheers,
    Dave
