So @AW311 , you're calling @Somel3uddy a liar? It is clear from the screenshots of your messages what really happened. What you should have done here was apologize instead of giving more lies and excuses. You had more than enough time to make it right. Pretty lame and pathetic. Nobody should trade with you until you change your attitude and behavior.

 

@Somel3uddy make sure @AW311 accepts your new trade request as a condition to making things right. You need to give appropriate feedback to what transpired in your trade. This is the proper thing to do. Hope you will do this.

 

@FATC1TY @F2brewers @blue-dream is it possible to keep the bad trader link on @AW311 profile until @Somel3uddy gets the opportunity to leave negative feedback, via another trade request, that @AW311 should accept? Otherwise, other traders might not know what he did for this trade. Thanks.

 

Yeah, it's possible. Will let this play out and let the two figure out some resolve before anything is done though.

 

@AW311 reached out to me regarding my comment on finding Tropicalia close by. If he cannot find it per my mention I will help him out with other possibilities, even if it means hitting my stash

 

He's welcome to drive down to me.. I'll personally walk him into a store where we can buy a CASE of it if need be. Or he can come to my house, and buy a sixer from me.

@AW311 $2/can is twelve bucks. Is this aggravation seriously worth twelve dollars?

$12 might be a ripoff price. I'm not familiar with the beer, so I truly don't know, but sometimes life just isn't fair. In the scheme of things $12 is a negligible loss.

Note, calling it a $12 loss assumes the regular price is $0. That's not true, which means that the actual loss (or over payment) is even less.

Please get him the beer asap.

 

FWIW, I'm interpreting his post as 2 cans per car (i.e., 2 cans per group of customers). Still doesn't excuse the delay...

@dwmetsfan13 thanks for the clarification. That makes much more sense. Obviously, I'm nearly brain dead. But it still means he could have it in 2-3 days with very little effort. Surely a friend or two would go with him & get the extra cans needed. It just doesn't make sense.

 

I was thinking he meant the place sells it by the can and it was a 2 can limit. Haha, I guess three of us all read it and interpreted it differently. If this is the case then I'd assume they could go in with 2 friends or family members and get the 6 cans and get it sent.

 

What doesn't make sense about this whole story is that @AW311 says he did a bunch of trades at once and got boxes mixed up. So who is the trader who got the CC Trop that was supposed to go to the OP? And then isn't that trader out the beers he was supposed to get? I don't see any trade feedback from other aw311 traders saying they got the wrong box, so I am doubting the "mixup of boxes" excuse. And since the OP didn't receive anything else he wasn't already supposed to, it really does not sound like a mixup at all. Either way this does not sound like a difficult thing to resolve, hopefully it gets done soon.

 

I'm not sure why this matters. Your reputation is only as good as your most recent behavior. As others have noted, this is a silly thing over which to tarnish that reputation.

And being flippant to people who have offered input isn't going to gain you anything. Don't thank people for their replies while talking about your stellar reputation on other trades/forums and all the ways you've supposedly done the right thing. Get OP his beer, be apologetic and move on.

So it's gotten harder for you to get this beer. Shit happens--I think most people understand how it goes with the craft scene these days and acquiring sought-after beers. But things like taking 4+ months to resolve, or even worse dropping off the face of the Earth for two months make it a lot harder to hold onto that understanding. Then it really starts to look like you are blowing them off.

Don't forget, this was your mistake. The very least you can do is go overboard with proactive communication, and despite your claim that...

...you actually went a full two months without any communication, then another week with no response when your trade partner reached out to you wondering what was going on after that two month period.

Reasonable minds can differ on what is meant by "cut off", but I think most of them would agree that what you did is basically cutting off communication.

I'm not saying you didn't, but this was not in the screenshots posted by OP. In that conversation, you consistently make it seem like in spite of any trouble you're having locating Tropicalia, you expect to be able to deliver the beers to OP.

I know it's easy to feel like you're being ganged up on when you have an entire thread of people being critical of you, but try to understand that as long as people aren't being mean or vicious, this is just part of facing the music if you mess up on a trade. In the grand scheme of things, it's a relatively low price to pay and can be greatly reduced by showing up and answering for yourself and getting the OP the beer he is owed.

 

Going to give this a few more days, and then reach out the OP. If there hasn't been a new trade agreed, and there isn't a tracking number by say, next Thursday, then we will cal this one lost, and @AW311 will lose his acct. privileges. Hopefully he can continue to grace others with his stellar trading record, and I'll be sure to remember his name when I find myself at bottle shares in the city.

@AW311, I'll be in downtown Friday evening. I'll bring a sixer of Trop dated 1/5/16.

FYI- Trop hits most places on Tues and Thurs if they are getting any.

Also- you can't have too much trouble getting Tropicalia, considering your checking it in online...
