Trade gone bad- what to do?

i looked him up after this thread because i can never remember who anyone is, and found a thread where someone alludes to "that thread where you [spottedzombie] outed yourself as a bad trader."

was that the hilarious knife-to-can thread, or was it some other "i'm complaining about my Bad Trader partner" where every single response was like, "it sounds like you're the bad trader... what are you going for here?"?

I actually had a trade set up with spottedzombie but then he back out. Glad now I dodged that one.

 

BA should have a way of protecting usernames... I see people with Zombie in their names and I get suspicious until I realize that they are not spotted.

Sorry to hear about this douche canoe dicking you over. The silver lining is that one bad act has spawned several shining displays of kindness and advocacy of the craft brew pursuasion. Were there other bad trade stories involving SZ?

Wasn't he the guy that was bragging about how he'd be getting multiple 2012 DLD tickets from his dorm room?

He was the dude that set up like a dozen pre-trades before DLD last year under the assumption that he would easily land X amount of Dark Lord of different vintages there. Then he had to back out/screw everyone because he couldn't land what he expected to. (and no one even knew he was pre-trading. He set up all trades as if he had bottles in hand) He then started a thread calling out other people as bad traders when it was him who screwed the other people out of the deal.
(I don't remember all of the details, but I'm sure others do - especially those involved)

 

The best part was he posted the BMs (edited I believe) and everyone got to saw what an idiot he was. It was the only bad trader thread I've seen started by the bad trader.

 

I remember my first run in with SZ. It was probably around the beginning of the year and not too late after his join date. Gist of the encounter was me telling him to stop thread shitting in and ISO:FT. Someone was ISO: DL FT KBS. The OP was wondering how many to get it done, and SZ just kept stating it was impossible because of how rare and awesome DL was. When I privately contacted him to mainly state that may be his opinion, and that is fine, he needed to keep it out of active trades, he just kept raging how rare, highly rated, and valuable DL is. I think he said something along the lines of fair would be 6-8x KBS for one DL.

He was a complete jerk and juvenile all around, he was put on my mental shit list since then, and no surprise about his back fired thread and now this.

Spottedzombie annoyed me when he responded to a clear ISO I had made and asked me what I would "cough up" for his 1L Fred from the Wood bottle. I found his attitude abrasive and greedy, so I didn't pursue a deal. I'm not terribly surprised to see him mentioned in this context. He gave me a few bad vibes.

 

This. Post Dark Lord Day he contacted me stating he had a ton of dark lord, etc. etc. and set up a trade with me. He wanted me to ship my end first (Arctic Devil, 50/50 EC18, Sour in the Rye, etc.). After I got a slightly funny feeling about the trade due to his lack of references, spotty communication, rambling and general propensity for bullshit, I asked to him to ship first, at which point he said he actually didn't have any Dark Lord, but would get back to me when he did. F*cker.

 

I am in noway a violent person but the more I read about SpottedZombie the more I think this SOB needs a good ol' fashion ass whoppin'. Karma

Damn sucks to hear it was him. I was contacted through the bad trader list before and he was also the problem. It wasn't conclusive but the info we have now seems like it's good enough!

I was the guy that he "outed". He posted our conversation on here and was slapped around by many people, including those that I had traded with. He, indeed, never told me that he did not have Dark Lord in hand. He set up a trade with me and something told me to wait until after DL day (a full week) to ship. I couldn't understand how someone could have 6 DL's of all different vintages but, of couse, I wasn't going to ask. DL day came and went and I sent him a note on Tuesday asking him if he had shipped and that's when he told me he could not make the trade. Good thing that I didn't ship. I saved the conversation, in case he ever posted shit again. I have been following him since that day and have contacted everyone that he set trades up with. I reported him as a bad trader but it took a while for him to be added since ours was never really a "trade" even though addresses were exchanged.

Problem is that he can re-register with a different alias.

 

I almost did a trade with him but I had a bad feeling after reading some of his posts so I bailed. I thought his whole struggling college kid story was bullshit . Send me your address and how many Zombie Dust You want and I will ship them out this week. Beer karma !Cheers!! Fitz

 

Except in the part where you suggest beating someone over some beer. He may be completely in the wrong, but suggesting violence is going a step further. Folks need to check themselves when they start talking like this and/or start agreeing that this in any way is a reasonable response.
