Was there a "delivery exception" status somewhere in the tracking? That's typically what happens when something breaks.

If not, we basically have a case where one of the two of you are lying, and neither of you have any trade rep. This is going to end poorly. :grimacing:

did you take a pic of the box? if so, send it to the OP. i agree that it sounds like it was repacked by the shipping agency.

p.s. if that is the case, in my opinion it's (as always) up to the sender to replace...

edit: also, of course there's also the chance that one is lying. (shrug)

I always ask newer traders to ship first and will try to keep confirmation very clear.

Could something have broken in the box and been re-packaged by UPS/FEDEX? Did the box look like it was re-packaged?

EDIT: You guys beat me to it!

there doesn't need to be a shipping exception. I have had a box damaged, the company repack everything and continue shipping the new package without ever sending a notice. There was some confusion between me and the other BA but we figured it out.

Interesting... first I've ever heard of that...

So then a pic and/or description of the packaging on both sides might help clear it up. i.e. if the receiver had a different style bubble wrap than the sender used due to Fedex repacking or something...

it was weird. I was proxing a bunch of local beer and was sending the other person's shipper. Then he asked "Why didn't you use the shipper I sent you? And why did you throw the bottles half ass (paraphrasing) in a box?" We then figured out one bottle was missing, so it must have broke. The shipper used was very secure, and due to the nature of them not bringing it up, I am guessing they majorly messed up in hurting the box (fork lift maybe?) and decided a "we won't tell if you won't".

really? send the guy another bottle already. you think someone is going to "scam" you for one 12 ounce bottle of KBS? if your trust threshold is that low you should not be trading beer.

No shipping exception notice. Uhaul box green writing on box. Stuffed with brown packing paper. Individually bubble wrapped bottles.

One trade on a 2-week old account doesn't exactly build up a rep.

Please don't take me the wrong way - I'm not insinuating you're at fault in any way, I'm more just pointing out that this is another danger of noob-to-noob deals... it's both of you purely at your word with no reputation backing it up.

Hopefully this really was just a breakage though - post some pics and a description of the packaging and that's probably the easiest way for us to help resolve this.

also, if you have/want to do noob-to-noob trading, you may want to stick to easier to get things than KBS. i guess it's not a huge deal if you have a case of KBS, but otherwise it's kind of asking for trouble.

Exactly. I never accused the OP of anything in our BM messages. Just stated I was missing a bottle. If I were to scam you I would do it for a lot more than a 12oz bottle. I would of NEVER brought this to the board or a bad trader list or anything like that, but once I saw the OP's thread I had to respond.

I use my own name on the board. I even put my place of work in my profile. Completed a trade with Zappbranagan yesterday. Have two more trades in transit now. Nothing to hide here.

    Here's an idea.

Don't air dirty laundry on a public website. Keep it between yourselves unless someone got ripped off. This is nothing but popcorn for everyone else.

    Two points:
    - Bubble wrapping bottles and then just stuffing the rest of the box with paper is not a good enough packing job so it would make sense that something might have been broken. Double boxing is a pain in the ass but the odds of broken bottles drop in a huge way.
-As someone else said, it is a bad idea for new traders to hook up. An experienced trader can walk a NOOB through the tips and tricks. It not only makes the whole experience more fun but stuff like this can be avoided.
I hope you guys can get this worked out!
