I recently got a good amont of feedback that a 08-11 BCBS vertical would be considered a fair trade for a BA Speedway.

And I'll bet you happen to have that vertical? I kid, I kid!

Really, though, I'd certainly trade a few older BCS for an'09 Speedway. I've only had the older versions of the beer & would love to try it fresh.

To be honest, the '09 wasn't all that great. But you are going to have to trade something really nice to land it since the limit was 1 per person or something stupid like that.

'09 DL, '10 & '11 MOAS, '06 Rasion D'extra. Pretty sure I got an overly generous offer, and made sure to send a sh*t ton of extras. Plus regular Speedway is way better.

I traded a Fou Foune 750 1:1 for an 09 BA Speedway. Hope that helps. We drank the BA Speedway last night too. It was pretty good.

'09 Speedway is a weird one. I know somebody got a '12 Blabaer for it a while back but you have to find the right trader (and I think it was international). I don't think that trade is possible now. The release was a pain so many of us are unwilling to let it go without getting something serious in return. Some got 2 bottles, then they cut the max to 1 bottle so others only got 1. Hope this helps...

I got a 375ml 2011 Blabaer for mine, through international shipping. I know someone else got a 750 2011 Blabaer (I think it was Mulder?) a while ago.

Also, bucky10, the guy in your topic who said he would offer up a BA Speedway was talking about the "2012" BA Speedway, which he does not have in his possession and has not been released yet. Seeing as how bad last years release went, let's see if his tune changes if the limit is pushed down to one, or if he even gets one.

On a personal note, I would never trade my other BA '09 for a 08-11 BCBS vertical. I've been able to obtain those three beers without having to give up a brewery only 1,200 bottle count beer.

Do you think a bottle of 1414 would snag a 2009 BA speedway?

I would seriously doubt that for some amalgamate of the following:

    1) the 09 BA speedway release numbers were lower
    2) the BA Speedway cost almost twice as much
    3) It was released during the SD home brewers convention and many people waited upwards of 5 hours to land one, that infamous line cutting debacle, home depot mules, etc.
    4) it has that notorious top 100 pedigree, etc. that pumps the hype machine that 1414 does not at present enjoy.

FWIW I enjoyed the 1414 more, just drink that instead and clap stacks at Magic City.

Interesting break down. Thats solid info. Thanks.

1414 was 1,000 bottle count; brewery only release.
Isnt that really close to the bottle count of 2009 BA Speedway?
What is the cost of a bottle of 2009 BA speedway?

BA speedway was $25 and far more sought than 1414 with a bottle count just below 1000 IIRC.

Also of note was a 2 person limit until OOPS WE HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN LINE, now it is 1 per person. That level of chagrin will be passed on to the consumer almost certainly.

BA speedway also a brewery only release, if that wasn't clear.

what were the per person limits on 1414?

since we are capriciously tossing around abstract metrics, LETS GET SOME HARD NUMBERS TO GO WITH LINES OF THAT SOFT WHITE

    1414

    269 Wants | 41 Gots

    Barrel Aged Speedway

    1,313 Wants | 82 Gots
