Curious what this could land as far as Cantillon Geuzes go, Lou Pepe Included.

    Thanks for the time. Cheers

Maybe the normal Cantillon Gueuze $4$, but I doubt even that. It's on shelves everywhere because it's so expensive.

$4$ is what I've mainly seen it for with the average at $20 or so.

I'm not usually the guy that says this but.... Drink it. It's amazing, the trade value isn't very high, and it's pricey as hell.

It's one of the 2-3 best Gueuzes I've ever had.

    Good luck!

It's a shelf beer and will trade for other shelf beers. You could probably get regular Cantillon Gueuze for it, but that's probably about the upper limit. No way LP Gueuze or anything more rare than classic.

20-30 bucks. There are cases sitting around locally.

Before it was imported to the US it was probably trading for more interesting things, but now it's in that same space as 3F Schaerbeekse Kriek in terms of 'value' on the trade forums: it's relatively limited as far as what makes it stateside, but it's so expensive that stock just sits and isn't gobbled up in the way that Cantillon Classic, or even 3F Oude Geuze is.

If I were trading some of my extra 3F Golden Blends with the hopes of getting harder-to-find, older vintage, or bottles with little to no US distribution from Cantillon, I would anticipate having to send volume and eating the cost. My $0.02.

I traded a Beatification B5 1 for 1 before it came to America.

I am now regretting that decision obviously.

I thought it was good but I couldn't really tell that much of a difference between golden blend and regular oud gueuze.

$15 beer for $27 beer? I dunno, I'd be inclined to chalk that in the win column.

If I had Cantillon Gueuze I wouldn't trade for golden blend $4$ or otherwise.

This post and the actual taste of 3FGB make a compelling case for doing nothing with 3FGB but drinking it. All of it.

I probably would, Not so sure though, From what I hear it is relatively affordable, all the bottles I have I got from trade.

I seem to remember someone saying the classic was like 8.99 on the shelf. The Golden Blend cost me 29 after tax. Thats a damn good deal in my mind

You heard right; Cantillon Classic 375mL bottles typically run $8-12. The catch? Finding them on a shelf anywhere.

Golden Blend is probably like 5x better than regular Cantillon Gueuze, and I'm a huge Cantillon guy. If you can afford to buy it, drink it. It's better than any other lambic / sour beer you could it trade for.

A couple months ago I did a side by side of 2009 3F Oude Geuze, Beat 5, and Golden Blend. For me - 2009 3F Oude Geuze> Beat 5>Golden Blend. Would I buy golden blend if it was on the shelf for under $25? Yes. Would I trade it $4$ for regular 3F Oude Geuze? Yes. I do wonder what the outcome would be if I did the tasting with 2011 Oude Gueze.

Also, in my highly subjective but correct opinion, most 3F Geuze is better than Cantillon. So don't trade it for Cantillon.

I'm inclined to agree, even though I do love Cantillon gueuze. I like how bright and acidic Cantillon is young, but if we're talking about depth of flavor and character, Armand will always win. This is why pretty much any unique/special blend of 3F gueuze is heads and shoulders above anything Cantillon does without fruit.

Recently someone was gracious enough to open a 10+ yr bottle of 3F gueuze for a few of us folks, which we opened alongside a bottle dated Jan 2012. Beyond how much better the 10yr was in terms of flavor (fwiw: as sour, but with more character and subtlety), it was very apparent that the 2012 bottle needed a fair amount of time to get into good drinking shape.
